that makes more sense now that I think of it. alot of current to go to the starter with such a small wire and fuse. thanks I will try again with new plan.

im more concerned about sand blasting getting into the bearings. also do you grease the bearings or are they wet sealed? and are there grease seals? I have new tires and these wheels are off a 87 parts bike.

good advice I'll give it a try. there has been some butcher work at the key switch as well as by the battery.

85 spree fuse and start problems
I have Spree that wires have been cut short to the pos side of battery. I added a small wire with inline 7amp fuse and it blows when i try to crank over. blows quick , any suggestions?

I figured it was too good to be true. OEM or NOS is always the best route. I tried a after market kit for a mustang mach 1
carb and finally had to do over with Barry Grant one. thanks for the detailed info. I wish honda had a kit as complete.So far all I find are parts here and there. thanks again

87 spree carburetor kit questions
does anyone know if theses carb kits on ebay are any good . they come with new floats .needle valve and idle stop and mixture needles. sounds good if its good. thanks in advance for answers. you guys have been great on every post iv'e made.

oil light operation 87 spree
i have a question when is the oil light supposed to show itself and is it just a level meter for the oil tank? or does it detect if oil has failed entering the fuel system? I show 12 volts at the wires on the tank with power on but no light. Thanks in advance you guys have been great help .

soaked it over night and it seems to be clear but now i have a new problem. the guide pin for the throttle is missing (go figure)and when i put on the kick stand in gear it continues to build rpm. i guess i'm gonna have to drill out and install a home made one with jb weld. the hole is there but stu...

i will put 2 stroke oil in. thanks guys. my next problem is trying to open a clogged orifice in the float bowl for the bystarter. man that thing is stubborn.carb spray and compressed air aint gettin it. i'm soaking it in carb vat . hope that does it.

I live in metro atlanta ga. Thanks for the info. I plan on dirt roads and trails at a lake cabin area for my spree. I doubt it will ever see pavement. Thanks again.
