Re: how to clean out a plugged muffler?
awesome, thanks! now to find me a campfire.. also, thanks very much for the carb cleaning advice and tutorial. it worked great! now i get to do it again, because i neglected to de-rust the gas tank before firing it up in my eagerness, so it promptly dwindled and died and won't restart. :D this time ...

Re: 84 Aero 50 petcock to manual fuel tap conversion?
i took a chance and ordered the petcock linked above, and i can confirm that it does fit the tank on an '84 aero 50 (after removing the plastic tubes). if anyone knows of any issues i might encounter using a manual fuel valve instead of the vacuum-operated petcock, i would very much like to know bef...

84 Aero 50 petcock to manual fuel tap conversion?
I'm trying to resurrect my '84 Aero 50. I've restored electrical power and fixed the oil leaks, and now it's on to fuel delivery. The stock petcock stopped functioning for the prior owner, and his fix was to drill the housing and thread in a brass fitting so that the fuel is always on (it is no long...

Re: '84 Aero 50 Won't Start
i haven't been able to find any instructions for disassembling the NB50M carb, other than what is in the shop manual linked on this site. any help with a link on that? also, there are lots of forums discussing the use of carb soak/carb dip, and most of them say that the modern stuff you can buy is s...

Re: '84 Aero 50 Won't Start
are there any good instructions for cleaning out the carb? is it just a matter of carefully disassembling, spraying with carb cleaner and cleaning parts in a non-destructive manner, and then reassembling? i haven't ever tackled carb work on anything, so i'm hesitant to screw it up with a noob move o...

'84 Aero 50 Won't Start
first post! :) i re-acquired my '84 Aero 50 (NB50M) recently and i'm trying to get it back to running condition. it has been sitting in a barn for 6 years, but it "ran when it was parked". currently, it turns over but will not fire. i have a brand new battery with 13+ volts, fresh gas, fre...
