Re: 86 Spree Electrical Issue

Problem solved. Turned out to be just a bad voltage regulator. And to think I went through all the work of swapping the entire wiring harness. :x So remember that guys, if you ever hook a battery up, and the headlight comes on extremely dim, most likely your voltage regulator is bad.

Re: Stock Spree Exhaust Question

Is 2500 miles a lot for a Spree? To answer your question again, 2500 miles is just the beginning for your spree. :) Check out this pic I took of my one 1986 spree back in May while I was riding, yup, you read that right, 25,000 miles! It was used nearly all its life daily at San Francisco airport. ...

Re: 1985 Aero 80 NH80 - Headlight and Tire question

The headlight bulb is sealed like the sprees.

You may want to find out why the headlight burned out. I found out on a spree that it was the voltage regulator, and I had just put a new looking headlight in when it fried it, again :(

Re: (2) 1984 White Spree's Restoration

Do you mind sharing what the cost was to have those panels professionally painted? Yes the guy who did them for me charged me $200 to do them. That is however because he had me help with the prep work, and pretty much just charged me for the paint and his time. If you live near the Saginaw, Michiga...

Re: Problem with Relined Clutch on 86' Spree

Dumb question but have you tried putting your old belt back on and giving it a test run? Only reason I ask is I bought a new packaged oe belt for my original spree rebuild and compared to the other 4 very used belts I had it was horrible. Had similar symptoms. Don't know if it has something wrong m...

Problem with Relined Clutch on 86' Spree

Guys I'm having a problem like never before with one of these relined clutches. I got an 86" with 25k miles on it, when I drove her around and come to a stop, that's when you really felt it slipping bad. So I figured I would take the clutch off and send it to Flint to the guy that relines them ...

Re: Reliability Spree bbk Poll

Here's a pic of this bbk spree I built a month ago. This is with a bbk, upgraded transmission gear, and a AX23 belt (which however did not work as well on low end). But I was cruising at 39mph which was pretty dang cool! :coolcruise:

And that's with a stock carburetor and exhaust 8)

Sounds like it's been a good weekend for you motormike! :thumbwink:

I think today I will take my Metropolitan for a cruise, then as always tinker around with a few sprees, trying to sell off most of my extra ones and take the summer off, these things have got me whipped.
