Re: 1985 Spree / Powered by Yamaha Jog
With the new exhaust and a 80 main jet I have managed to get the Spree winding of the speedo (60kmph). I assume i must be hitting 65-70 but will keep playing with it as I think there's plenty more left.. https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8573/16448514690_cb5de1ddf5_b.jpg Keeping with the black & Re...

Re: 1985 Spree / Powered by Yamaha Jog
Picked up this bad boy for $40 from a guy on Craigslist.. Mounted it up as I was curious to see if the big rocket can I had on there was helping on hindering performance.. turns out it was the latter. With this new exhaust I got a tonne more acceleration and got an extra 5-10kms out of the top end. ...

Made up a new rear fender / tail where the OEM piece won't fit anymore. Wrapped it in black vinyl to keep it in theme and factory looking.

Relocated slightly & simplified the exhaust mount.. just needs some paint.
Got my new seat cover (OEM style) in the mail today.. not bad for $14.

Re: 1985 Spree / Powered by Yamaha Jog
For now its a replacement stock carb, scoot seems to be maxing out at about 55/kmph (34mph)
Like you said thought, open air filter is likely hindering the performance, so I have some bigger jets on order.

Yep, pivots on top. Seems to handle okay. I haven`t really ridden it a whole lot yet, but we are definitely learning as we go haha Yeah, clever play on words I think. Nissan released a few models in 1989 all retro inspired.. all small little engines and all limited it numbers. There was only ever 10...

Re: 1985 Spree / Powered by Yamaha Jog
Thanks for the kind words... The upper bolt is actually a pivot point. The mount system from factory on all these scoots seem to allow the engine to pivot as weight is applied to the suspension. Originally we made it double pivoting (from top and bottom) but realised thats no good at all, so we put ...

Re: 1985 Spree / Powered by Yamaha Jog
While waiting for a lot of paint to cure & some new jets to arrive in the mail I have started thinking ahead about the gap I will be left with between the two plastic sides, above the rear wheel where the fender / license plate mount & tail light mount used to sit. No way it will fit back on...

Now that i'm getting closer to it being rideable I decided i'll start working on making it pretty. Gone with a satin red & gloss black theme.. https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7394/16302370700_f47351b948_c.jpg https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7306/16463818006_f35aabdb39_b.jpg https://farm8.staticfli...
