Re: 2001 Elite S w/ Polini Corsa: What parts combo is proven

Jet size: all depends on area, elevation, etc. I am in the seattle area (sea level). I always run a 108-112 main and 40-45 pilot in 24mm polini's, Cp's run around 35-38 pilot, 102-108 main. This is with open filters and non ported bore or case. Jetting will change with porting. Carb and intake: naru...

Re: Honda Elite S 50 - Need Performance Opinions for DIY Wri

It is definitely worth the upgrade to a polini carb, and also a stage 6 intake. Those ct's love to leak and the reads like to fall apart. Most people think the pipe is the only reason their bike is loud, but this is false. Running an open filter makes a bike MUCH louder. If you want a sleeper setup,...

Re: AF18 compression bump

Measure squish and deck the bore accordingly. You want it in the .8-.9 range. For race engines that are gonna run race fuel .6-.7 is usually the squish.

Re: Reed valve petals not closed...concerned?

Blown head gasket will cause low compression. As meatball said the reeds have absolutely nothing to do with the compression reading.

Re: Double Trouble....Elwood!

I always hear cycle without the shrouds. Should only run for about 6-8 minutes and heat up to 260-280 during that run time. I don't use cht when heat cycling but a temp gun. I read the temps all around the cylinder to make sure it heating up all around.

Cleanest way to do it imo is to put it right behind the front wheel in that plastic.

Re: My scooter collection

The cool thing about this forum was the guys posting their setups and the performance gains they saw between parts. That helped readers choose and pick what parts to use on their builds. It's sad that has mostly diminished

Re: My scooter collection

Shouldn't have said "all" that was ignorant. The amount of build threads with useful info and build pictures have almost disappeared. There used to be a lot of dudes on here messing with hyper performance stuff, but not so much anymore. there used to be more build threads like "gooch&...

I have built that pink 89. I have also got into prebug zumas and own a few of those. All the real builders and OG members have left this forum so I don't come on here often anymore.

Re: My 87' Iowa Edition Cyclone Spree

The 2t will make more power.. buttt with no variator takeoff will never be good. You should put money into a Mina, or Dio and you will be wondering why you spent 1500 dollars on a spree motor to do 42-45 and have less than desired acceleration getting there. I understand why you did it on the yellow...

Lol. I respect your dedication to the paper weight that they call a spree engine, but no way it'll take a zuma off the line.

Re: Opinions on my temperature.

Why ask the question if you already think you know the answer? Seems silly to me. Personally I wouldn't run that spree bbk anywhere past 370, I would try to keep it below 350. Those bores aren't made with the precision tolerances of an Italian bore that people will push up past those temps. You're p...

24mm runs great on that setup. The 21 & 23mm polini cp's are also great carbs for a 72
