Re: Wheels feel tight
Check to see if the brake arm is engaged. Happened to me once as the springs that force them out can get old.
Doesn't hurt to take them off and inspect and reattach too.

http://hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=31313 Rancher had a good post going through his upgrades. He decided on the malossi cast kit just like I did. Runs great with stock carb and exhaust. Just get the jetting right and tune the variator and clutch to your liking. I had 57 for a top sp...

Buy a plug and remove the pump. Easiest way seeing as you already have premix in there.

Re: By request, 3'' PVC pipe air scoop.
Decided to make my own as well. I sanded down a 3in corner pvc pipe to fit inside the shroud and stick out. I painted it black and screwed it in after I took the photos.

Re: Summer Build: '96 SA50
Picked up the Polini white and blue contra set, will try white out first. Also snagged the clutch spring set from Polini, black, green, yellow, blue. Lots of city driving so will probably start with yellow and move up or down from there. Giving even more money to Polini I bought their belt, hopefull...

Re: Summer Build: '96 SA50
Well the next summer moped season has arrived and the scoot ran like a champ all year. I am going to tune the transmission now seeing as the engine is running so well. Because I do so much city driving I am thinking the polini blue clutch springs will be a bit much. I might just buy the malossi kit ...

Re: '99 Dio SR
I may be mistaken but spewing smoke and slow starts are signs of a leaky oil pump. Best way to know for sure is if it is harder to start the longer it sits, aka the longer the oil is leaking. My scoot has the same problem so i just bought the plug.

Keep updating this thread if you figure out a quiet airbox for a larger carb. I am in the same boat currently.
My elite is doing great as well. Those malossi casts with stock are fun.

Re: Summer Build: '96 SA50
Put the tach on and got 7900 rpm during acceleration. Drops to 6200 at like 35 or 40 then climbs back up to 7900 at top speed.
What do you guys think? this is with 4x6g and 2x9g

Re: Summer Build: '96 SA50
I will put the tach on and tune with what i got first. If i don't like it then i will buy 7g rollers and then maybe get into clutch tuning. Next summer will be the heavy tuning probably.
