Spree carb running dry with new BBK
Good morning guys! So it's been awhile since I've had the time or money to work on my scoot. At this point I've installed Taz's BBK, which includes the new jet. After working out a bunch of electrical kinks(by the grace of this forum..) I got the scooter running. It sounded great and ran very smooth...

Missing part in brake hub
Hey all, I posted recently on my wheel feeling tight and everybody told me to look at seeing if the brakes were engaged or if my bearings were good. I did check brakes and bearings and found they are all good. What I found is that i believe i am missing a spacer inside the hub that is pushing the hu...

Comparable scooters/ interchangeable parts
Hey guys! I found out tonight a friend of a friend is a big scooter guy. He seemed generally very knowledgeable. He was explaining to me that the engine from my 84 spree was the same as the express or hobbit which are known for being highly upgradable. I was wondering if you guys could offers your i...

Re: Killswitch, starter button, ignition cylinder all bad
Alright so for any other newbs or people having issues here is how I fixed my problem. I took the red wire and the black wire from the four pin connector at the ignition switch and added a switch in between. I also disconnected the black/white wire from behind the speedo that goes to the killswitch....

Wheels feel tight
I recently got my scoot running and am dying to take it for a spin. Unfortunately both front and rear wheels feel ectremely tight. I am not sure why. They will not spin freely. Should I grease the axles and spacers? Could my brakes be tightening up for some reason? Even if I disconnect my brake line...

Re: Killswitch, starter button, ignition cylinder all bad
Pat it is indeed running but only because I have rigged wiring and am jumping the starter. We are VERY close to being road ready though

Killswitch, starter button, ignition cylinder all bad
Good Afternoon guys, Last night I installed the 48mm BBK from Taz (runnning beautifully finally :woot: ) and tonight I will be trying to wrap up all the other little issues. My main concern now is installing switches temporaily. I have a bad killswitch and I believe bad starter button. I also have n...

Re: Low compression.
Alright the BBK has been ordered! as well as a new headlight and full gasket set with everything my newb heart could desire. Seems like Taz is a seasoned ebayer considering it was shipped probably an hour after I paid. I am very excited to slap this baby back together and see how it feels. Should I ...

Re: Low compression.
I am definitely going to order the 48mm kit tomorrow. I am not about "mad speed" considering I already wrecked pretty badly stock haha but I am looking for an increase from the existing setup. Ultra, is there anything else I should do at the same time? exhaust? Jet? and when it comes to sh...

Low compression.
Alright guys so with the help of everyone on this forum (ultraliner in particular) I finally figured out my ignition issue. With this being said the scoot still would not start. I found my compression was at about 60 PSI. I had a feeling it was not good anyway so i tore it down to further inspect. I...

Re: Ignition switch concern
Alrigght ultra, you've successfully diagnosed my problem over the Internet! When I tested the black and white wire to the kill switch against the frame I had resistance. With that being said I got spark and the problems and got bigger. I will post in detail what I've found on a new post. It is a com...

Re: Ignition switch concern
Ultra, did not want to leave you hangin on here. I ended up having to work late last night and getting into wiring in my car actually. (As I've stated before electricity and I don't go well together haha) I will head out to the shop Saturday now. I am hoping that at that point I will have her runnin...

Re: Ignition switch concern
Ultraliner, I am heading out to the shop after work tonight to test the resistance in the wires to the kill switch you mentioned. I forgot to mention to you that I am no longer blowing the fuse after removing the aftermarket ignition switch, at least not so far. So that is a good sign. I am, however...

Re: Ignition switch concern
This issue seems to be getting deeper and deeper but I'm hoping I'm on to something here. So I've got my brake light in after bypassing the switch. I will worry about the starter later. With that being said I have no spark. I've tested my plug and coil on a different scoot we have out here at the sh...

Re: Ignition switch concern
I'm working now and it's still acting as if the kill switch is always engaged after I've bypassed it and put a new fuse in. Nothing electrical is working
