Re: Grrr!!

Take a look at your left crank seal. At this point it is your easiest next step:

Re: Grrr!!

I have spark, compression and fuel. No you don't or it would fire up and run for a few seconds at the least. Fuel in the bowl is a good sign, but doesn't prove that you have fuel in the intake manifold. You might be missing the main jet or have something in the carb plugged up. Forget this for now, ...

Re: Official NS50F thread

Watchguy either bought the loaded NS50F or somebody else did, as i just had a message posted on one of my NS50F YouTube videos from a man who just bought a fully loaded NS50F. There can't be too many out there, so it is probably the same one.

Re: Official NS50F thread

Watchguy, Please take a second to update your profile with your location. Country and state are enough. You might find someone close to you who has an NS50F. There might only be two or three in excellent or very good condition in the USA that still have those original shrouds you are looking to find...

Re: 85 Gyro S carburetor issue

Mike, That is a tough one. I started with this one, just to get the box: https://www.ebay.com/itm/223270638716 If I am correct and your gyro is stock, you have a #75 Main jet, so that kit will only give you one main jet that is leaner. Sprees use the same main jet, but they are #62 through #68 which...

Re: 85 Gyro S carburetor issue

Mine does the same thing, and I do the same thing.. i.e. I roll off the throttle a bit when going downhill. Fortunately, I don't have many hills where I live. I have a complete jet kit, but haven't tried changing main jets or moving the needle clip, i just live with it.

Re: '85 Spree randomly died

That is a puzzle, and I am concerned that you didn't find that the seal had blown out and was just sitting on the end of the crankshaft where you could take it off by hand with no tools. If that wasn't the case, then I don't think your new seal was the answer to solving your problem. Was your old se...

Re: 84' Melody Drivebelt dimensions question, maximum confusion

Sorry, I don't know about the Dayco belt, but since your scooter has a variator, I think you should used the correct size belt, 651X14X30. I don't think the quality or brand of the belt will make any difference, as any belt will likely last longer than you will be riding the scooter.

Re: 84' Melody Drivebelt dimensions question, maximum confusion

The Honda part number for the 84 NB50 belt is 23100-GJ8-000. I think your Japanese web site was correct: 651X14X30

This guy claims this is the right belt, and he has good feedback:

Re: '85 Spree randomly died

No, The only thing behind the seal when the engine is running is a air, gasoline, and the tiny amount of oil that your oil pump automatically mixes with the gasoline. During the split second that your seal blew out (again, if this is the problem) a small blast of this mixture might have come out beh...

Re: '85 Spree randomly died

First of all, if a seal blew out, it was only one, and typically, it is the left one which is the easiest one to change. The seal is still available from your Honda dealer, or you can just push the old seal back into place if you want to use your old one. The part number is 91201-GK8-003 OIL SEAL (1...

Re: '85 Spree randomly died

If you didn't run out of gas, you may have blown the left crankshaft seal out of the engine. It is under the front pulley under the side belt cover. Before you start work on it, open the drain screw at the bottom of the carb and make sure a lot of gas runs out. If it does, then have a look at these ...
