Re: Electronic 2 Pin LED Flasher Test

What size resistors did you need to add? It was a while ago now, I think anything that's more Ohms than a filament bulb would do. Anyway, you might get lucky with your purchase I'd be interested in seeing what you come up with. I used the 555 staring with school...That chip hit 50 years old this ye...

Re: Electronic 2 Pin LED Flasher Test

I bought a cheap LED flasher with a variable blink rate - one of those orange direct from China eBay jobs What I found was that the LEDs never went out completely - the blink was bright, then a weak glow instead of off. This was only fixed by adding a resistor parallel to the LED which kind of negat...

Re: My Honda elite has no spark!

Assuming it is something really simple, do you have a good strong earth (with paint scraped off any contact points) from the battery to the motor?

Can't tell from the photos

Re: Kick Start Gears and Oil Pump Question

Do you have any pictures of the broken kickstart parts?

There might be a match with a different Honda scooter not sold in the US.
The UK market Melodys all had kickstarters and there was a variety of engine types - might be one of them matches?

Re: Timing question

Is fuel definitely getting to the cylinder?

Here's a link to some stuff to try (some already suggested above)

Welcome to the forum Sb69!

Things that spring to mind would be a knackered starter relay or maybe not squeezing the brakes when you thumb the starter

Loving the torque reaction on that first Yam!

Those pipes at the top look like they'd be useful for keeping warm during winter riding too

I wonder how different the frames are between the different variants?
Might be possible to get a set of panels and do a straight swap.

Re: Does NT50 Melody mini fit bigbore kits with NQ50 Spree engine?

I wouldn't bet on it.
You'd need to try seeing if a base gasket fits and go from there.

In the UK the Melody Deluxe, Deluxe 2 and Mini have different heads and different shaped pistons amongst many other subtle changes.

Re: Can anyone ID this scooter?

Some idea of how my Melody D2 went in to my Polo. Golf's are bigger and have a squarer back on them. I could've removed the rear seat cushions to make a bit more room too. Incidentally it had all it's fluids in (including half a tank of gas) and had no spillages. If the image doesn't show below: htt...

Re: Can anyone ID this scooter?

It should easily fit in a Golf with the full back seat folded down.

I've had scooters in the back of my VW Polo (baby Golf) with no problem.

Re: Does NT50 Melody mini fit bigbore kits with NQ50 Spree engine?

Just had a look on CMSNL and the Danish NT50 has a different barrel to the english one (Danish one not pictured on CMSNL). If you post a picture of the engine and the year you might be lucky for BBK and might be able to get something like this (note angled/ side exhaust stub): https://www.wemoto.com...

Re: Does NT50 Melody mini fit bigbore kits with NQ50 Spree engine?

UK models ND50 and NP50 do not have big bore kits and all you can do is buy an oversize piston and bore out the barrel to get something like an 8cc increase in power. I did try a barrel from an 80's Vision (NE50) but it didn't match the crank case. You could try ordering base gaskets to see what mig...
