Re: Best Gears to run in a AF/16 Dio
From motorscooter guide.net; "Unlike its predecessor, the Dio (SK50) did not use the same 2-stroke engine first found in the Aero 50 (and the Elite S / R and Elite LX / SR after that). Instead, the Dio featured a next generation ‘AF18E’ motor. " "Two years after the Dio hit the Canadi...

Not to be a stickler for details, but I thought dios had af18 motors not af16?

Re: Screwed
Anybody know where to get a jis drill bit that clicks into a quick-change style drill Chuck? I typically use a 1" or 6" bit instead of the magnetic bit holders, and I'm looking for a long jis bit but can't find one.

Re: Aftermarket top end issues
The crank seals can leak on these old motors, especially at full throttle. Also, it's a spree. You're not really supposed to be going Full Throttle haha. The bike was designed as a small run around vehicle, something to be used to ride down to the mailbox and back. I believe it came with two horsepo...

Good job on this one! Leave it to Vintagegarage to successfully restore an obscure Chinese 3 wheeled roofed scooter! Your garage looks like a scooter museum btw

Re: opinions on best variated AF05e big bore kit
I currently have an 87 Elite se50 with the coveted 10:1 rear end ratio (I'm pretty sure, haven't checked ) and I've got a line on a couple pipes, so I'm hoping I can get 55-60 with no upgears. We'll see tho haha.

Re: opinions on best variated AF05e big bore kit
My polini equipped 86 aero50 only hit 53 (one time) but was running stock gears. Pipe, pwk, and big reed block tho. The af18 (at least the early stuff) varios seem to fit with some boss adjustments, and I used a polini af18 belt with good results on my af05. I've heard you can machine an af18 differ...

Re: Crankcase Drain Hole
Aluminum is a good conductor of heat, so I'm guessing it's the motor heat traveling to the back of the case to the differential. Although, you may want to check the clutch. A spring could be weak, causing it to allow a clutch pad to slightly touch the bell at idle. That would cause some heat in the ...

Re: opinions on best variated AF05e big bore kit
Dio or elite? If it's an American elite w an af16, it's not the same as a dio. Dios are smaller and usually have af18 motors.

Postimage.cc works great for me, and it even has a few links for different sites. After you upload a pic it looks like this: https://i.postimg.cc/W4pdkGGx/Screenshot-20190224-102449.png And then scroll down, and you'll find the links. I use "hotlink for forums": https://i.postimg.cc/hvmvBp...
