Pretty sweet and detailed examples! Instead of chopping the stops on the triple, you can always grind the welds and flip the bracket 180 degrees on the frame.
You won't really need the stops as the forks will only turn so much and the nose cowl still will bolt up.

Great to see this back on the streets! Love the black and white scheme. What type of speed are you reaching with the new carb setup?

Re: Aero/Tact conversion
New build running great! Top speed of 47mph with 65cc and se50 gears. I'll need to swap out the pipe for a high end replacement for more top end. http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x85/grimlock6573/Mobile%20Uploads/image_93.jpeg http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x85/grimlock6573/Mobile%20Uploads/im...

Re: Aero/Tact conversion
Here's an update on the DJ1. My goods from yahoo arrived so I was able to finally street test the bike after installing a working petcock. All the bike needs is a horn and gear the goes from speedo cable to gauge cluster. Everything else seems to work great including the Kenda rubbers. http://i182.p...

Re: elite to dio conversion, plastics
Look up AF24 Tact and af25 Dio. More than likely won't bolt straight up. The Dio fairings may be too narrow to cover the rear mounted fuel cell. With modifications there may be potential for the swap. I agree, Af05e (variated) is a great engine for around town jamming with stock bore. Throw some SE5...

Re: Aero/Tact conversion
The head gasket leaked at 9ft lbs, so i ordered a new gasket to try again. I dug up an old thread where wheelieman expirenced similar challenges and retorqed to 17 ftlbs. I ended up going with 13ftlbs. Further i had the head milled .025 so im anxious to see the results. I found a set of 87 se50 10:2...

Such a beautiful DJ1. I dig those factory expansion pipe's! Would you happen to know the final drive ratio on the stock gearing Dj1/Dj1r?

Re: Aero/Tact conversion
Carb is fitted with a 90main and still dialing the low jet size. i shaved a hair from the variator drive boss. This drastically improved acceleration but i keep topping out 42-43mph. I'm really leaning towards 87 se50 gears for a click higher in mph. I removed the pipe a couple weeks back and notice...
