Re: Replacing old tires...any tips while wheels are off anyw

Maybe he got lucky...or maybe he just had the wherewithal to see it in my sig, right at the top. I was under the impression that one of the reasons to list your bike there was so you wouldn't have to indicate it each time (for example, see eclark's recent post on temperature). Thanks to both of you ...

Replacing old tires...any tips while wheels are off anyway?

Any maintenance suggestions while the exhaust and wheels are off? Things to check out? Brake pads look good, bike has a little over 3000 miles. This mounting of the new tires is a gigantic PITA, so I am no rush to get it done (in fact I'll likely break down and take them to a shop). Dave Its a 1985 ...

UPDATE: For those who helped w/my "hardshifting" Aero..some

After adding new rollers, some sanding, and cleaning, etc...the hard "shifting" seems to be gone. Must have been the rollers.

Thanks for all the advice!

Re: For those who helped w/ my "hardshifting" Aero...some pi

Yeah that last pic is what it looked like when I opened it...that's why I was saying I was surprised. Thanks for the tips guys. Anybody know the stock weight for the rollers? I think its 10g but can't find it in the manual. And maybe a good place to order them? I'd like to stay away from the crap &q...

For those who helped w/ my "hardshifting" Aero...some pics

So I took the advice to check out the clutch assembly in my Aero 50 that "shifts" hard from a stop, and here's what I found. I decided to take off the movable drive face assembly as well (where the 6 little weight rollers are), as long as I was in there anyway. I'll start with the clutch: ...

Thanks for the replies...i'll check that out. I'm sure I'll have follow-up questions (I'm new to these scooters).

Aero 50 "shifts" hard when accelerating from a stop

Hi all, If I get on the gas while already moving at any speed, everything is real smooth. But from a standstill, it lurches/bangs pretty hard. I'm guessing these things only have one gear, but the best way to describe it is it feels like a very hard "shift" from 1st to 2nd. I can modulate ...

Re: Came for C70, left with Aero..with busted "fuel mixing t

Update: after putting in Bones' fuel mixture tube (looks just like a jet), the Aero seems to be doing great. I popped out the broken off piece, slid in the new tube and even after a couple days sitting without running, it started right up. Thanks again! One thing that did surprise me while testing i...

Thanks motormike...will do. Right now the only thing that the bike does not have is the hardware holding the plastic panels on. I'll take a closer look soon.

Re: Came for C70, left with Aero..with busted "fuel mixing t

I'd like to thank Bones for his very gracious offer to help me while I was in the Keys. Thanks for the know-how, the parts, and the hospitality. And it was a pleasure hanging out with you too...look forward to seeing you again next year. I'll give the parts a whirl when the temps up here get over 30...

Re: Came for C70, left with Aero..with busted "fuel mixing t

Thank you wheelman,
The bystarter itself is new...I'm curious if just the brass tube in the picture itself (which is not part of the bystarter) can be purchased or found somehow.

Re: Came for C70, left with Aero...with busted fuel mixing t

Hmmm...sorry. I got the term "fuel mixing tube" from the Wikispreedia article on "what is a by starter". The guy who wrote the article called it that and has a blue arrow pointing to it. It is the tube that would be directly under the by starter needle when the carb is assembled....
