Re: Anyone do a Metro motor swap into a Spree?
OK, the met-spree swap is not happening. The mounts are completely different. Youd have to perform miracles to get it to hook up. I now have an 06' Met in the garage and its in the tear-down phase. This is a totally different animal than the 80's-90's Sprees and Elites. I have my work cut-out for me...

A glovebox is roughly 13"x10". Your printer has to be the size of a refrigerator!....pics or it didn't happen.AJPace98 wrote:my printer is large enough to do both.

Re: Spree Petcock covers
I looked at 3d printers also...one large enough to do a glovebox is nearly $10k...you could buy a 3d printer for $200 if you wanna make buttons all day.

Re: Anyone do a Metro motor swap into a Spree?
I was thinking of a custom tank. Yeah, I know itd be expensive as heII but to remove the oil reservoir and use that space with a larger tank. Youd probably get a 1 gallon tank after its all done and getting 100mpg on the Met motor would seriously increase your per-tank travel distance. Relocating th...

Re: Spree Petcock covers
I looked into injection molding for petcock covers, gloveboxes, etc....Price per unit is pocket change but you have to purchase the mold before you can go into production. The mold STARTS at about $3000 and can get as much as $5000. Depending on quality of materials used to make the mold and how man...

Re: Anyone do a Metro motor swap into a Spree?
a slow mama jama. They do 42-43 in bone stock form. Theres also a ton of aftermarket Ruckus parts that fit this motor and vari so I can tweak it to make it enjoyable. I know its water cooled but the radiator is actually incorporated into the motor on the side near the fan. So theres no weird radiat...

Anyone do a Metro motor swap into a Spree?
I have a donor 06' Metro at my disposal. How tough would it be to swap into a Spree? Would I be able to use the Spree gastank/petcock system to deliver fuel? Seems like everything else is plug'n'play except for maybe getting creative with the motor mount. Any info would be helpful before I attempt t...

Re: Helix Stake-bed pick-up
I like the uniqueness of the wood but its completely non-functional. Unless you strap everything down your cargo would fall right out. Im more impressed by the paintjob. That took some time/skill.

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
I ask this because I went through the break-in process very carefully. Heat cycled 10 times with full cool downs. At least 70 short trips of about 1 mile each at varying speeds, never going over about 3/4 throttle. This process was painstaking and consumed a lot of my Summer to complete. Lots of put...

Re: Getting the Tazland BBK, GEARS, + MLM ran on a dyno
We know that an "unbroken" bore has an additional amount of friction which equals additional heat. Easily seen with the naked eye by looking down a new bore and seeing its criss-cross type markings on the inner walls. A break-in period is basically meant to "finish" the honing pr...

reminds me of my experience with that bore...hit the throttle and the speedo jumps up to 20...then 30...then 35-40!!...then 0

Re: Honda spree fork swap to elite fork
Ive seen it done. Requires cutting/welding the Spree stem to fit the Elite forks and the fender plastic needs to be butchered also. Its quite a bit of effort to end up with stock elite forks/shocks/brakes....seems like it'd be more practical to upgrade the whole she-bang if you go through that much ...

Re: I want this guy's scooter..is he shifting gears?!?!?
I thought it was a funny video but...ok then Ive never had or ridden a Vespa so I wouldn't know about them. Just different Hondas, Yamahas and a handful of Taotao Chinese stuff. They've all been auto shift. I even used to have a Honda FatCat years ago that you had to shift but was automatic on the t...

I want this guy's scooter..is he shifting gears?!?!?
So this dude on a crazy fast scooter gets a fly-by from a *ick on a street bike. What he does in return is priceless....
Looks like hes shifting with the left brake handle...hmmm..NEXT MOD!
