Re: Advise on building for acceleration

ZX trans...its the shizz Just get a bigger rear pulley. Also needed to complete the swap is a wider (18mm-ish) belt, a longer (36mm-ish) boss and one of the handy belt cover spacers that SSS sells. For this swap, minor case carving is required to the inner belt area to avoid belt rub. The areas to ...

Re: 1987 Honda Elite SE50 Derestricting

The difference of the 11’s and 10’s is minuscule. You wont see anything but a 2-3mph gain. Certainly not worth the price of admission if you can find them. Theres rumblings about swapping in AF16 gears, then every ratio imaginable is available. This required finding a COMPLETE gear set from an AF16 ...

Re: New Spree, couple of issues

Lean mixture causes tough starts. Rich mixture usually leads to fouled plug and NO start. Not sure if thats your issue...but something to keep in mind.

If it wont start after a few kicks, look at plug for signs of rich. Also check that plug electrode is in good condition and gap is correct.

Re: New Spree, couple of issues

Unscrewing the screw allows more air in. (Leaner)
Screwing it in blocks off the air passage. (Richer)

Re: 1985 "Trash Aero" project

Anything can be restored with enough “want”. I have a bunch of parts bikes that have Af05’s in them if you need some random bits along the way. No Aero’s tho...all my stuff is Elite.

Re: Af16 Crank Seals

Here a seal swap with a puller but Ive done plenty with makeshift hook tools. Whatever you use, just be certain you dont scratch or damage the smooth surface of the crank itself. If you scrape it up, it will never properly seal...even with a new seal. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=j-ZpL4cCW2c&featur...

Re: How to fix stripped crank splines

Put fresh crank seal, rollers, clutch and belt on...then weld the pulley on. Make sure the pulley is in the exact spot it needs to be. After that, she’s done!

Thats the only 2 results “near me” in a 100mi search radius. Was posting to provide availability and current asking price for my area. Of course, these figures could be vastly different in other regions. This is merely for Seattle/Portland area.

Re: New Spree, couple of issues

Check if your exhaust isnt restricted in some way. Many reports of insects, rodents, etc..making nests in the muffler. Theres also the very common “carbon cake”. This is where carbon from dirty 2-stroke exhaust gasses build up inside the muffler over time. Its a slow process on a perfectly running m...

Re: New Spree, couple of issues

Pulled the plug, looked great, wasn’t lean. It also developed an awful smell as I rode it that lingered, almost burny or like it was running hot. Could be a faulty oil pump and its not getting any (or enough) oil. More recent oil injection systems have a sensor and warning light to indicate when a ...

Let us know your progress and what jet you end up with. As more people buy these pipes, the question will be asked again.
