Re: My 2001 Honda Dio Build

I mustve missed where you said the stock airbox was used. Certainly need lower jet than with a pod. Also the intakes have been known to leak out of the box. Imperfect mating surfaces cause this. Some opt to try and correct this with high grit sandpaper on a piece of glass. I would just use a standar...

Re: My 2001 Honda Dio Build

Pressure test your motor and look for leaks. The oko is known to leak out of the box but are good once sealed up. Install a CHT if you dont have one, pretty tough to tune without one and are risking seizure. Ive never had the Taiwan bore you have but Im thinking 40/110-120 would be ballpark since th...

Re: Clutch problems

The center clutch spring on the Spree motor doesnt open or close with revvs since theres no variable ratio pulley up front. Its a single gear system and the pulleys remain stationary at all revvs. The job of the center spring in this case is to simply keep tension on the belt to eliminate slippage. ...

Re: 86 Aero AF05E Mild Performance Increase

Jet swap on your stock bike will do nothing but make it run worse. Honda did the footwork for optimal stock operation. Doing a small upjet, Im sure it will run but it will not increase performance...it will increase your fuel consumption. Find those 87’ SE50 Elite 10:1 gears for a few extra mph’s on...

The AF05 is a great motor in stock form...if yours runs, leave it alone. Save any tinkering for Winter months so not to kill your Summer fun.

Re: How do you get that oil pump plug working?

I’ll go ahead and tear apart the 5 scooters in my garage to take pictures for you. Yup, I’ll get right on that. As you can see on the picture on mine, its split.....mine sat parked for the past 3 summers because of this. Hopefully one of your lightbulbs dont burn out next...might sit for another 3yr...

Re: How do you get that oil pump plug working?

Hondabond works for many things...I even use it at the header slip-fit connection on Arrow, Yasuni and other exhausts without any “blowout”. Used for thousands of leak-free miles with fully built race motors spinning at 12,000 rpm’s. Come here for advice and then claim the solutions provided wont wo...

You lost me on percocet cover...but the top of the petcock cover is held on by small bent tab. Can be made out of anything. The bottom is tucked into a little notch thats molded into the plastic cover and body panels.

All that for an o-ring? Buy the one SSS makes and slap some Hondabond on it when sliding it in, o-ring or not...done.

Forget the starter. Just use kickstart. The high cost of a replacement starter doesnt justify the simple luxury of starting with a button.

Re: Just acquired a 86 Honda Spree

If that doesnt work. Dig into your headset and find this cluster of wires. Make sure one hasnt shook loose. If one is loose or unplugged...reconnect and check for blinkers. If they look connected, unplug the GREY and LIGHT BLUE, take a spare piece of wire and link them together. You MUST have the ke...
