Ya jinxed me Mike! I actually think it's bad. I'm looking on the Bay for a new one, looks like $150 or so. Also gonna need a fuel pump, cuz this one's missing it's pump.
The various Ruckus Facebook classifieds have them for $50-75.

Re: An interesting find I stumbled on. Wish there was more i

Did some better translating with my kids this morning (Japanese speakers). Up Garage is a franchise, but also has core branded stores. Croooober is their web store/auction site.

And I was mistaken. That exhaust is used, just excellent shape.

Re: An interesting find I stumbled on. Wish there was more i

Part number says it's the standard exhaust for a 1988 Honda ELITE 50 ES (SB50). It's new, and only like $18, but I don't know what shipping will cost you. The store that put it online is some huge parts store in Japan, with lots of locations (unless is a web conglomeration of some kind). They also s...

Re: Is this a special Tact?

Got this from the seller (edited for clarity - I believe he's a native Japanese speaker). "Yes, you can register this kind of scooter to DMV. These models are over 25-years old, and not covered by DOT (EPA), just registration by DMV in CA. I have prepared a Bill of Sale, Invoice, Bill of Lading...

Re: Is this a special Tact?

California registration laws are byzantine, and conflicted. The seller may have more info, but because of their age, and the fact he imported these from Japan, the scooters fall under both 'grey market' and 'before 2005/under 50cc'. On the one hand, CA DMV says under 50cc and model year before 2006 ...

Re: Is this a special Tact?

That guys earlier ads were odd. He just took pics of a warehouse full of scoots with instruction to make an appointment and come make an offer. Cool scooters, but not really how CL works. Vintage, if you're interested in anything he has, I might get be able to go and check it out. He's pretty local ...

This mainly a 50cc group. A handful of members deal with larger but they are in the minority here. You should check out http://motorscooterguide.net/Forum/ for a broader audience. :2thumbs: Yeah, but this is where I've been hanging out the most. Was hoping to give a little back to the community. I'...

Free Scooters in Los Angeles

Fellow Angelenos! A garage has offered to let me take a bunch of their abandoned scooters away. I grabbed a couple last week, but I'm out of room, and my wife is getting unhappy with me collecting 'project' bikes (seven, and parts for some I don't even have). Among them, two 85/86 Elite 150s (mostly...

Re: 1985 Elite ch80

Okay since the last post ive taken the top end off. Almost everything is in good shape. Some very slight surface rust on valve seats, but thats it. Going to clean them up and put it all back together. Unfortunately i forgot to take pictures. My next step is to source a new stator, as its missing an...

Re: 1985 Elite ch80

Download the manual from the tech section.
Take pictures before you start, then group and label parts as you take them off (not later). I like to group by steps in the manual. Ziplocs are your friend!
