Re: Arrow pipe on stock bore - what main jet to use?

I guess I must be running on the rich side then. In any case, I dropped my rollers to 6.9g and good lord I never thought a 49cc could accelerate that fast. Probably as good as it’s going to get for now, more updates to come after I install the BBK.

Re: Arrow pipe on stock bore - what main jet to use?

So, update in case anyone is interested. Swapped my 8g rollers for 7.5. Helped the low-throttle bog but still present. Swapped out the 1k contra to the 1.5k and it’s a lot more responsive and acceleration is much smoother. Trans seems to be shifting around 8k and the low-throttle bog is hardly prese...

Re: Arrow pipe on stock bore - what main jet to use?

Installed last night and test rode today. Holy. Crap. It's like a whole new bike. WOT off the line and I'm going 30 in what feels like 2 seconds...acceleration is insane. If I slow down and then try to accelerate again its pretty boggy until it hits about 7k and then BRAAAAAAAAPPP....off like a rock...

Re: Arrow pipe on stock bore - what main jet to use?

That's about what I figured. I forget exactly where I set the limits but I think I set my trailtech warning light to come on yellow at a temp of 375 and red at 400 or thereabouts. As far as the performance goes, I asked on the SSS Customer Support group on FB before I ordered. To quote Brandon, &quo...

Re: Arrow pipe on stock bore - what main jet to use?

Heh, I’m a pioneer! /s

Anyway, I’ll keep the 80 for starters as it does seem to run a bit on the rich side as it is. I’ll have to check what jet sizes I have but I think I have at least up to 90.

Temp wise, what should I look for/avoid?

Arrow pipe on stock bore - what main jet to use?

Hi all, Topic pretty much says it, I started the engine build for my 2001 Elite by ordering an Arrow pipe from SSS. The original plan was to tear the whole thing down and do a BBK and an bunch of other stuff, but I am moving next month and won’t have time for all that until afterwards. The transmiss...

Re: Adventures in CVT Tuning on stock motor

You are a wealth of knowledge, sir. CVT is all dialed in, and I have different contra/clutch springs/roller weights for tuning after installing the corsa. I can probably swing the $400 or so and do the corsa/intake/carb/filter in one go. Good to know it will run on the stock pipe, at least initially...

Re: Adventures in CVT Tuning on stock motor

Thanks for the tips. Is there a carb/intake combo that would work well on both the stock bore and a Corsa? The $800+ to buy everything all at once might be a tough sell to the wife...

Re: Adventures in CVT Tuning on stock motor

Oh I'm definitely going all out on this. Corsa and supporting mods are next on the list, may install over winter. Would the stock carb/intake/exhaust work with a Corsa or should I plan on just doing everything all at once?

Re: Adventures in CVT Tuning on stock motor

UPDATE: 1k contra, 4K shoe springs, and 8g rollers seems to be the sweet spot. Also took the shims out. Rockets off the line and shifts around 6900. Not perfect but d*** fun! Hope this info proves useful for someone:-)

Re: Can anyone ID this scooter?

I was trying to avoid having to lay it down, thinking about maybe pulling the passenger seat and putting the rear wheel up on the back seat. Laying it down I’d have to drain the gas/oil, but I’ll probably need to do that anyway.

Can anyone ID this scooter?

Saw this in my local Craigslist listed as “Honda Scooter. Runs.” Dude wants $100 for it. Anyone know what it is?

Adventures in CVT Tuning on stock motor

So after many swaps of just about every component of the CVT on my '01 Elite I've got a better setup than before. There is still room for improvement, so there will be updates as I tinker with it more, but since I took so many data points I figured I'd share them. Parts are all stock unless otherwis...
