Meatball, I have not inspected those and being the novice I am that sounds daunting. It may very well be the problem but I think I would need a true mechanic for that. That’s a really good tip but it does shut down when I screw the air screw all the way in. Thanks for the suggestion though, I’m baffled and will try anything at this point.

So I pulled off the air box, pulled out and correctly reseated both the throttle stop screw and the throttle valve. I looked into the carb and checked the grip throttle and everything with that is working great. But..... when I ride it down the road...... same sticking problem where it won’t throttl...

The throttle stop screw still is part of the process when setting the idle though right? Air screw 1 3/8 out and throttle stop maybe one turn out from seated. Then adjust air screw 1/4 either way for highest idle then throttle stop adjusted either way till 1800 rpm?

The good news is that the broken valve was only for the bottom carb drain tube. So this morning I got the carb all hooked up and put on the important t half of the air box (not the cover) and it fired twice and ran super high rpm so I had to shut it off. Ok that makes sense. Being a novice with carbs I actually thought the oil hose had a steel interior. The bad news for me is that steel piece broke off my carb I think. Is that repairable or do I have to buy a new carburetor? I’m afraid the answer is that my original carb is toast.

Thanks for the pic! So my oil line has a steel tube inside the hose that will not fit over the carb inlet for the oil connection. What would you do with that issue?

Could someone look at this picture and tell me what goes where?

I am confident in the carb being together correctly but possibly the different hoses are hooked up wrong.
