Re: Another Fuel related question
Well, I think i'm just going to call it. Pulled the carb apart again and the bystarter passage was open. Did a compression check and somehow i'm back down at 90 psi. Time for a new motor I think.

Re: Another Fuel related question
Before, when I turned the a/f screw it did not change anything. I have a bit of an update. Put new reeds in. Cleaned the carb again, and now it's acting different. I can start it and it will idle for a couple seconds then die, wait 15 seconds and i can do it again. Messing with the screws does not s...

Re: Another Fuel related question
Stock airbox with a OEM filter. Everything that needs to be plugged is plugged. I'll check the main jet soon. 115 PSI.

Another Fuel related question
Just put a new piston/rings in. Cleaned the carb, have good compression, new air filter, cleaned out exhaust port. The bike is hard to start, and needs the throttle to be open 100% after that, you have to feather the throttle to keep it running, has very little power. I'm running no oil pump, with 3...

Re: Big Bore with stock Intake and exhaust?
Went ahead and put another set of rings in, and we seem to be on the right track. Went ahead and cleaned the exhaust port and ported the intake while i was in there. Doing some heat cycles but seems to have some power now.

Big Bore with stock Intake and exhaust?
Not really looking for performance. Trying to get a spree back on the road. Already put a new piston/rings in and that only bumped my compression up to 90. It could have been something I did, though i don't believe so. Thinking the cylinder may be too far, so i'm looking into putting a new top end o...

Thanks for the advice. I went with this set on the advice of a forum post earlier.

Re: I'm fairly certain my spree starter is bad, just want to make sure.
Thanks for the insight! I have a kit on the way for the starter. Unfortunately, I moved onto trying to get it to fire and did a compression test on it to find out it only has 60 PSI. So now I have a piston kit on the way as well.

Took it apart and the brushes are trash, tried to clean them up the best I could and got a couple seconds of spinning, but it inevitably stopped.

Pulled the starter over lunch and bench tested it, which it failed. Going to try and clean it up and see if i can get it working.

Re: I'm fairly certain my spree starter is bad, just want to make sure.
Now the question is where's the best place to find a replacement? I'm going to try and rebuild it if it needs it, but if not, where should I look other than eBay?

I'm fairly certain my spree starter is bad, just want to make sure.
Picked up a spree over the weekend that's been sitting for a while. Just trying to get it running at this point. The kick starter gear is stripped out, and the starter doesn't work. I have 12v throughout the whole system, the solenoid clicks and I have 12v at the starter however it doesn't spin. I'v...
