Re: Non-modified Spree Top Speed
I'm trying to find a cylinder with less wear. I think I need cylinder P/N 12101GK8670 but don't know if A or B will be stamped on it. Anyone know what the service manual is referring to when they talk about the A or B mark on the crankcase mating surface that needs to match the cylinder?

Re: Non-modified Spree Top Speed
I might just pull the top end apart again to see if I can find the reason for low compression. This might also be why after a week or so of sitting I can’t start the scooter without spraying mixed fuel in the carburetor. Possibly not enough suction to suck the fuel into the cylinder.

Re: Non-modified Spree Top Speed
Not sure where you got your rings from. Theres alot of junk kits on the market. Below is a the only kit I would use to refresh a spree. Pretty cheap too! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-Spree-NQ50-41mm-Piston-Kit-stock-1984-1987/224067486850?hash=item342b768482:g:ndUAAOSw~4hb1LMv That’s the kit I ha...

Cylinder was in good shape so I only honed it. Probably only 5 miles on it since rebuild.

Non-modified Spree Top Speed
I've got an 84 Spree restored to factory condition. New piston and rings, original exhaust (cleaned), original final drive gearing, carburetor and airbox. I weigh around 175lbs and it tops out at 25 mph. It is not an Iowa Spree. It starts easily and runs smoothly at idle, mid and wide open throttle....

Re: spark, fuel, compression, no start. 84 Spree
Nice to know that these seals are still available from Honda. I had purchased them from a local bearing supply company. It is possible that was also part of the problem. I can't remember the exact dimensions when i compared my old seal with my new one but they were very close. If i blow this seal ag...

Re: spark, fuel, compression, no start. 84 Spree
Sure enough that is the problem. I think the issue may have been caused by the installation of the seal from the engine shop. If you look closely at the image you will see the seal is deformed by the die used to press it in. The die used should have been more closely matched to the outside diameter ...

spark, fuel, compression, no start. 84 Spree
I've recently got my 1984 Spree running after a rebuild. I've taken it out for a couple short rides. This time I rode it for approximately 10 to 15 minutes and the engine died on me. It almost sounded as though it simply ran out of fuel. Before it quit running it ran very well. It started easily and...

Re: JW Parts Plus clutch re-surfacing
I’m definitely interested in using their services. I just wanted more information before I sent them money. More specifically if there’s extra costs to ship back to Canada.

JW Parts Plus clutch re-surfacing
Has anyone used JW Parts Plus for clutch re-surfacing? I've tried inquiring about their services via facebook and email but have received no response. No phone number is listed on their website. Are they still in business? Any other suggestions for clutch shoe re-surfacing?

I should have jumped on it when you still had some available. Would you be willing to share the 3D file?
