Just got an opportunity to take it out for a spin and seems like replacing the petcock did the trick, jetting and trans tuning will definitely be needed however, sounds like my main may need a bump up, sounds a little hollow on the top end. But most importantly, no idle surge it seems!

Could also be too fat on the jets. Try a 38/115and see if it helps the idle. I like to lean out the jets until I get heat issues and slowly fatten up to call it good. If blinkers only blink once while it’s running, sounds like it needs a new battery. Try turning the blinker on and accelerating and see if it blinks more, if that’s the case then it’s a battery. The headlight doesn’t come on when the engine isn’t running, horn could also be part of dead battery.

Just another tip for your builder assembling you motor-be absolutely sure the intake system is completely sealed up-it’s too easy to overlook and find out you should have used hondabond or motoseal gray on all the gaskets because unwanted air leaking into the fuel flow makes it impossible to tune. ...
