Re: Trail Setup for Stock ‘01 Elite

You would just need a cross bar from the front somewhere like the neck, to the middle of the frame in front of the motor somewhere. I've seen it done for drag racing and it was in good taste and not overly invasive. That just keeps it from folding in half if you bump into a tree  Yeah I’ve s...

Re: Trail Setup for Stock ‘01 Elite

 I can remember my first stock bore SA50 with yms pipe, 9:1 gears, upgraded clutch springs, Polini vari w/7gm. rollers and new oem belt. That setup got me to just about 54 mph and once I installed metro tubeless wheels and 90/90/10's I think it was 58 mph? Maybe that was with the wind? It's b...

Trail Setup for Stock ‘01 Elite

Alright, Ive got a few questions regarding setups that would work nicely for like a “dual sport” scooter. ‘01 SA50 SR, bone stock and I’d for the most part like to keep it that way and just do some “bolt ons” and trans tuning if possible. I know lots of people have gotten 60 out of the stock bore on...

Re: Does the Met stem need to be modified to go into an SE50

Finally, the Met stem is in its final resting home. Using both SE50 cups, SE50 lower bearing race and SE50 stem nuts on the top. For the record, I didn't re-install the loose ball bearings. I picked up a new non-loose set...like it should've been. Hey meatball, where’d you get the cups and bearing ...

Re: [HELP] AF16 swapped SE50 Elite Issues

Just got an opportunity to take it out for a spin and seems like replacing the petcock did the trick, jetting and trans tuning will definitely be needed however, sounds like my main may need a bump up, sounds a little hollow on the top end. But most importantly, no idle surge it seems!

Re: [HELP] AF16 swapped SE50 Elite Issues

Could also be too fat on the jets. Try a 38/115and see if it helps the idle. I like to lean out the jets until I get heat issues and slowly fatten up to call it good. I always run the smallest pilot I can get away with for a snappy throttle. The trade off is tough cold starts. I'll give it a shot, ...

Re: [HELP] AF16 swapped SE50 Elite Issues

Air leak. Could be as simple as a top cap gasket on the carb. The D-slide carbs are simple to tune, especially the Polini PWK’s. Unregulated air entering the system would make the idle fluctuate as the mixture is all over the place. I’m not sure where it could possibly be leaking from, the top hat ...

Re: [HELP] AF16 swapped SE50 Elite Issues

Read through your post. Can't say I have any advice, only that I understand and share your feelings. Following so I can hear some opinions about why an engine "surges at idle". It's an issue I've had with vehicles, and don't know what the typical cause(s) is/are....motor With my research ...

[HELP] AF16 swapped SE50 Elite Issues

I have an AF16 swapped SE50 with a few issues that I can’t seem to get dialed. My setup consists of : Malossi Crank, Polini Corsa, Naraku Intake Mani and Reeds, Arrow Exhaust and a Polini PWK 24mm w/ SSS Pod filter. I’m on 120mj and 45 pilot currently on the carb and 40:1 mix ratio The initial probl...

Re: Elite SE50 Mods

Those are stock wheels on the Japanese model "Honda Dio ZX Live" Thank you! Will the rear wheel just bolt right up to a stock AF05E? Also I found a G Dash whole front assembly on an auction site, but I'm not sure how to get it to me, since they won't ship it due to it being apart of their...

Re: New to mopeds, just bought an 87 spree with af16 swap.

If blinkers only blink once while it’s running, sounds like it needs a new battery. Try turning the blinker on and accelerating and see if it blinks more, if that’s the case then it’s a battery. The headlight doesn’t come on when the engine isn’t running, horn could also be part of dead battery.

Re: What size carb?

Update: Over the weekend I was able to get the motor swapped into my SE50, I ended up have to use the AF05 motor mount bracket and drilled out the lower hole, it drilled kinda crooked since it was done in a vise, which I'm not too happy about, but it will work for the time being while I look for ano...

Re: What size carb?

Just another tip for your builder assembling you motor-be absolutely sure the intake system is completely sealed up-it’s too easy to overlook and find out you should have used hondabond or motoseal gray on all the gaskets because unwanted air leaking into the fuel flow makes it impossible to tune. ...

Awesome thanks! Should be getting my engine back sometime this week, probably in the next couple days. Then all I need is the manifold from racing planet which will hopefully show sooner than later
