Do Dio seats on an Elite SR?
Question is what it sounds like. Found someone in the DR with a bunch of Dio seats, but obviously shipping is pricy and I don’t wanna buy a seat I can’t use on my 2001 Elite SR.

Re: Polini Contessa BBK Base Gasket Replacement
agree with bonesv, check for other leaks. i would suspect at exhaust gasket perhaps. take shrouds off and spray soapy water at cyl base on cold startup. will rule out base gasket leak or confirm :thumbwink: I'll definitely try this. At the cylinder base though, is there usually a negative or positi...

Re: Polini Contessa BBK Base Gasket Replacement
Just buy a new one - they got em for $10 right? :thumbsup:but always check for leaks. Maybe your jetting is just off? Or there’s a leak somewhere else I'm pretty sure my jetting is right, I went up to a 90 for the break-in period and just took it down to an 88 based on the plug, which I think is ab...

Polini Contessa BBK Base Gasket Replacement
So I did something dumb. Before I installed my Contessa on my 2001 Elite SR, I definitely bent and probably creased the base gasket a little bit. I pressed it flat best I could, and I've been riding on it for about 200 miles. It runs pretty good, but I think that base gasket is leaking based off how...

Re: Cheap exhaust dilemma, 2001 SA50
I run the stock Honda exhaust on mine, AND stock airbox with Noisy-guy filter, AND stock PA carb jetted up to 90. Sounds like we have the EXACT same power train setup, down to the jet :D so I guess I’m on the right track. I’ve got stock rear gears rn and 8.5g rollers, but I’m still well within the ...

Re: Cheap exhaust dilemma, 2001 SA50
That’s what I’ve been told, but I feel like both these exhausts fall into the “cheap” category compared to like Arrow or other pipes. I just don’t know if the stock-style ones even have a proper expansion chamber, or if the sport ones are even remotely tuned. Nothing wrong w my stock exhaust necessa...

Cheap exhaust dilemma, 2001 SA50
Hey all, Scored a 2001 Elite SR for $50 a couple months back, has low compression (~70-75psi) but still runs like a champ all things considered (some transmission mods and it gets up to about 40). I’ve got a polini contessa bbk on the way from Treatland to hopefully solve my compression woes, and ra...

Re: Top end replacements/alternatives/upgrades - 2001 Elite 50 SR
My last elite has the Malossi 70cc cast cylinder, 9:1 gears, and polini variator. Stock carb with stock intake and exhaust and I had no problems getting up to 60mph. Also wanted to ask about the final drive, since I can't seem to find the fabled 9:1 ratio everyone uses. Only final drive I've found ...

Re: Top end replacements/alternatives/upgrades - 2001 Elite 50 SR
Great idea with a mild BBK to start. Seeing as it's been run with NO oil you will need to replace the crankshaft bearings (and seals). They will not last long and even less with a BBK installed. Go OEM Honda if you can find them. How urgent do you think this is? I'm not sure exactly how long it was...

Re: Top end replacements/alternatives/upgrades - 2001 Elite 50 SR
I would suggest a mild 70cc kit. You can run a cheaper Malossi with stock carb and exhaust. My last elite has the Malossi 70cc cast cylinder, 9:1 gears, and polini variator. Stock carb with stock intake and exhaust and I had no problems getting up to 60mph. I’d start with opening up the cvt and che...

Top end replacements/alternatives/upgrades - 2001 Elite 50 SR
Hi! This is my first post on this forum, so please be gentle. I recently acquired a 2001 Elite 50 SR for around $50 since it has >12k miles and was run for a couple dozen miles with no oil… but it still runs! I bled the oil lines/pump and it’s still sorta quick compared to the Chinese 4 strokes that...
