Re: Honda SA50 Headlight Replacement?

Does anyone know how many wires the headlight harness has? Trying to figure out how many connections a 25 watt halogen bulb should have to swap one.

You can 100pct take a dremel with cutting wheel to the bulb, cut/smash out the internal bulb, and replace it with a 25W halogen or LED unit held in place with putty epoxy i.e. JB Weld.
I may try this on one just to see how it works.

Re: Honda SA50 Headlight Replacement?

@noiseguy - ok now Im getting it, you’re design eliminates the whole lens and everything. Would be cool if there was a way to use some cheap and readily available automotive light bulb in it for long term replacement. Idk much about the leds but wonder if there’s a market standard type of thing avai...

Re: Honda SA50 Headlight Replacement?

Which 3D printer do you use? I picked up a 3D printed petcock cover off someone awhile back and it was decent quality. Not like oem but still sufficient.

noiseguy wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2023 9:01 am There used to be several vendors for these parts on eBay. Are they not there anymore?
One of the reasons I never bothered stocking cables was that they were pretty easy to buy from others.
Yeah I bought my last one off ebay but current searches turn up nothing.

Re: Honda SA50 Headlight Replacement?

@Rideslikenacho do you have a 3D printer? Or would you need to buy a 3D printed part? Unfortunately I do not have one or Id probably be coming up with a battery cover too and some other things. I’d be interested in buying one depending on the cost of course. It’s a great idea and really does need a...

Re: Honda SA50 Headlight Replacement?

I’m looking to replace bulbs on several Sprees, gotta be a better way. 3d printed with video tutorial with steps would be excellent!

Re: ‘85 Spree - no power issue

‘Suspect’ wires in image, also it looks corroded. Assuming this is causing grounding issues so no power is going through. If anyone knows the correct gauge of that wire would be great.

Re: ‘85 Spree - no power issue

Only thing else I have noticed is bad green wiring (exposed wire) coming off negative battery terminal going back into wiring loom. Could this be it? Yes, that green wire is the main conductor for the grounding side of the system. Thanks, I’ll rewire those next. Aside from that, everything else on ...

‘85 Spree - no power issue

Have an ‘85 Spree with no power getting to it. Battery is dead for sure so hooked jumpers up to my truck and would expect to see at the least rear light, blinkers, and horn plus starter engage but I get zero power to them. Checked the red wire to fuse, fuse, red wire from fuse to front, red wire fro...

Re: ‘85 kill switch issue

Pulled kill switch completely out, tested and it ‘does’ have continuity between the green and black/white wire. Did same with known working one and both checked out.

Will start new thread for no power issue.

‘85 kill switch issue

I have a new to me red ‘85 Spree. For the most part it’s in really good shape. However, battery is completely dead so tried jumping it off the truck. Normally I would have expected to get some lights etc but nothing happens. Checked the red wire from battery terminal to fuse and then fuse to ignitio...

‘85 Spree Stator Coil Issue

No spark condition, pulled stator and looks like the fan bolts were put back into the flywheel after removing the fan by original owner. Given the length.. when cranking over the bolt was cutting into the excitor coil. Sharing for reference. Ordered a used stator. Anyone know if the coil itself can ...
