from what i've read it seems that it's like an electric choke... if i'm wrong someone else will say so ;)

if it's completely broken it probably will need replacing; otherwise you can try to rebuild it. there is an exploded view posted in the tech. help section.

i'm very sure about compression. disassembled the engine just to get a peek inside. everything seems to be fine..

and yes i have a new plug in now. the plug is blue/white, but it's not as loud as a spark should be...

i'm probably just going to do a K&N and i guess get a bigger jet.....

but i don't see why just that would make it not start? any other ideas?

i was thinking it could be the pickup (magneto), but it's sparking... the idle jet's clear and i have gas, but does that really matter if i'm using starting fluid? i don't have a filter at the moment and the airbox is open so i can squirt starting fluid. but we're choking it with our fingers when we...

1. yes, excellent spark from new plug 2. yes, fully cleaned the fuel system after scoot was sitting for a while 3. yes, compression seems strong which is why i'm so confused..... we took off the flywheel and cleaned out some gunk, and using the drill-start method we got it to pop; cleaned the fouled...

does the magneto need to be replaced?

... or am i missing something... can't get the scooter started, even with starting fluid. i replaced the plug, that's not it. the only thing i can think of is something in the ignition circuit. any help is greatly appreciated!
