The port timing on these is very conservitive. Machining the bottom of the cylinder will lower the ports reducing performance. Some actually spacer up the cylinder to raise the ports. The easy answer is mill the head. If you want to get fancy spacer up the cylinder then cut down the top of the cylin...

The Pal has the same basic engine as the Spree. Both of mine do have the variable front pulley. This makes the takeoff faster but does not add to the top end. 40 kph is about what they are supposed to do but my stock one will sometimes get to almost 50 kph. Your drive belt may be worn. This will red...

The exhaust port mod is highly reccomended. On these cylinders the exhaust port is very small and the port timing is very conservitive. I posted a writeup on how to do it that should still be around. One important thing is to come in with the stones through the exhaust outlet and not from the piston...

I picked up a kit at the SEMA show last year. It is amazing stuff. We have used it for several repairs and it hasn't let us down yet. I have no financial interest in the company, I'm just a very happy customer.

Most anything is going to cloud up. Do not use sand for aluminum. I use the AD size glass bead for aluminum. The garnet sand is pretty good and doesn't have the silica. It is actually aginst the law to blast with silica sand, big air quality fines, like $10,000. Not to mention eating up your lungs. ...

Cast iron cylinders are cheap, easy, and good enough for the HP these were intended to make. The perfect choice for Honda when they made them. An aluminum cylinder with a cast sleeve will shed a lot more heat but cost more to make. With all the fancy CNC stuff it seems like it wouldn't be horribly e...

It was intended to seal by the rubber holding the sensor being soft. Since the rubber is now decades old and hard it doesn't seal so well. New rubber bits might be available.

If it was originally manufactired without blinkers you do not need to add them. Here in Nevada the only non original item you are required to have is rear view mirrors.

Adding lead to the gas(?) does not increase compression. Lead raises the octane rating of the gasoline allowing you to run higher compression. You get higher compression by shaving the head.

The last cylinder I worked on had a pretty good line scored into it. After honing it turned out to only be a thousanths or two deep. Not enough to need a bigger piston. Looking at it I would have sworn that it was going to take a rebore. I would hone first, then measure, then decide on the rebore. W...

i was just at walmart today, and their floating motorcycle charger is 20 bucks. Quite affordable for me. Do you need to tend batteries if you disconnect them from the scooter and leave them in 70 degree basement? A fully charged battery in a 70 degree basement should need very little attention. An ...

One way you can limit the current is with a 12v light bulb is series with the battery. If the battery is dead the bulb shines brightly and gets dimmer as the battery charges. A 12watt bulb will only pass about an amp. The 1.2 amp ,1200 ma, charger shouls be fine. Add the light bulb if in doubt. keithw

I have the same problem. When I put oil in the tank I keep the level below the sensor mounting level. The problem with sealing it is that the area is soaked with oil and nothing will stick.
