How much oil do you run?

I built a 2001 Elite 50 back in '08 that I'm bringing back to life after not having ridden it in several years. It has a 72cc Polini Corsa, Oko 28mm carb, PG long and upgear. The auto oiler was blocked off and I've always run premix. Problem is, I can't remember how much oil I was running per gallon...

I paid $750 about two months ago. Probably $150-$200 too much, but it only had 1K miles on it and was in pretty much brand new condition.

I was about to go that route but I don't have access to a mill. By the time I paid a machine shop to do it, it wasn't too much more and I can hold on to my stock one.

Big thanks to James (ubcnme)

James responded to my post about his vented clutch cover in the pictures thread and offered to pick one up and ship it for me at cost. It came in today. Thanks James! http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c397/ghia914/ClutchCover-1.jpg I could have really used it yesterday. I was caught in a big time th...

Yes - they seem to have shot up recently (around April/May). I won't even say what I paid for my Corsa. Yikes.

The battery goes behind the grey plastic panel that sits behind your feet when you're riding.

No - there's no need to rejet. You're just changing the take-off and tweaking when the clutch engages by swapping out the springs. The part of the powerband that is usually slow with stock springs is just skipped (you rev through it) with the stiffer springs.

oopss. What I meant is, do you have 4k spring now? I have 1500 rpm. You might be getting the clutch springs (there are 3) confused with the compression spring. I installed the 4,000 rpm clutch springs and a 1,500 compression spring at the same time. I didn't like the clutch springs (no low speed th...

Hondaline Brochure from 1987 (56K beware)

Check these out - they're scans from an '87 Hondaline brochure (mods - can you add these to the tech docs section?): http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t301/bustinscoot/SaturdayMarch1020073jh.jpg I've never seen this front box before: http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t301/bustinscoot/87elite50.jpg...

Where do you get 4k clutch spring and how much? VT Cycles. I think they're $16. Tell Keoni you want yellow clutch springs (4,000 rpm). They'll make a scoot with some power into a neck snapper. They basically skip the lower part of the power band and just rev through it. Keep in mind - they're a MAJ...

I'm running a 72cc Polini Corsa, 28mm OKO and PG Long with 8.44 gears. I'm happy with the gears - 8.44 is a nice all around ratio to run with a big bore kit.

what are the 2 honda bikes in the back ground on the left the red and white ones?
You can't see them in the screen grab I posted, but as Mario rides along that fence, there's a TON of those. The red Elite in the pic and the black one that he's riding are the only two bikes that aren't those.
