Re: Flash III Build Chronicles

What did you do/use to port the boost? I have always been concerned of scraps falling down into the crank.

Re: 95' Elite SA50 PS restrictions?

The CDI is not a limiting factor. In addition to your mentioned de-restrictions also de-restrict the airbox - take it apart and you will see where there should be 2 opening for air to go in but only one has been cut out.

Good to hear that it was nothing serious. It is always nerve racking when you hope for the best but think about the worst.

I believe that if it is a goshi pipe it will has more flow and you should probably upjet. But I would go by the plug.

I believe what you said is correct as far as the calculations go MK. Still not sure if that is a proven method but I wouldn't doubt it. I hope that it holds true because I wasn't looking forward to measuring TDC volume with a liquid. For simplicity, lets say that we had a 50cc engine with a TDC volu...

Re: The Breakfast of Champions

Also the thicker base will advance my exhaust timing and I'm guessing that might be a good thing. What do you think? I'll go measure what the timing is now, brb. I think it would be best to adjust the base gasket, as previously described, so that the piston is just low enough for the exhaust port t...

In my limited experience, I have never heard of calculating compression that way. Can anyone verify this method? I'm not denying it I am actually very interested in this. It seems to be accurate. It appears to account for decreased ring efficiency and give a more true compression, assuming you know ...

Was there a jet in it? Don't know if it would run without one but just a thought. Check to make sure the bystarter is working properly and also check to make sure that your float is working properly. Check your air filter and replace if it is bad.

I had the same situation with my '97 SA50P. De-restricted the exhaust, airbox, put in a Keli pulley and swapped out the 68 SA50P jet for the 78 SA50 jet. I wired my oiler wide open and if I let it sit at idle for a while I will get some nice smoke coming out once I rev it up from the excess oil that...

Last year I broke the piece off of the casing where the motor mount attaches to the case. I believe it was off the left (larger) side. I had it welded back together and haven't had any problems thus far. DandyDan, if you decide to chop two different AF16 engines please let me know because I would be...

If it is a spree it does not have a variator. If it has a variator it is not a spree. They are mutually exclusive. The Spree has a fixed gear drive ratio. You can increase top speed, but it will come at the cost of bottom end acceleration. See the pulley mod discussion if interested: http://www.hond...

Sounds about right...does it feel like acceleration peaks around 12-15mph? That is how my spree feels and that's the only time you can do a wheelie with your feet on the floor...hang on!

What model is this intake off of?

I'm confused as to what model this intake is off of. This is a SE engine. I want to run the oil pump but there is only 1 inlet on the intake and one on the carb. I know that the 94+ carbs have two inlet and an intake with only one inlet, but this is obviously not a 94+ intake. Everything I have seen...

Did a check as you described. Was the CDI (ICM), as expected. Popped in another one and everything is working great! Thanks Mouse.
