Oil pump plug

Wow haven't posted in a year and 9 months. Hope you're all doing well. Its been a while since I did my build, but i noticed my oil pump plug vibrating in and out and bumping against my washer blocking plate. Perhaps this is why I have a jump in temp after WOT runs where I snap the throttle shut. Any...

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

I'll do some tests tomorrow. I wonder if it's the boss length limiting the belt travel.

I'll also check my weights and see how those affect top speed.

Re: Met 660 x 18 x 28 Belt in ZX Trans?

I'll have to check tomorrow but I out a gates 660 belt on yesterday and I didn't get higher on the variator (marks still same as before). The revs did hit 11800-12000 rm where before I only hit 10700 or so. I didn't have my gps so I do know what mph I hit. I'll test tomorrow. Perhaps I need to shim ...

Re: Met 660 x 18 x 28 Belt in ZX Trans?

Greetings: Yeah of course, 671 measured around the belt with a cm. tape. Sorry for the typo. The Met Bando still runs really well, with no slip or abnormal wear at all. Still getting around to making a GPS run, but feels like 70 easy, and almost as quick acceleration as with the 669. did you have a...

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

65 mph and you're not even running corsa?? Seems like people with similar set ups and corsa are maxing out around there so congrats! If you dont mind me asking, how much did you get the pg short for? And what kind of clutch are you using? I'm starting to order all my parts for a similar build. Only...

Re: 99 Elite SR. Starting to mod questions

The next thing is to get 9 to 1 gears this will top you out at 54mpg I was able to ring 59mph out of a stock trans with my corsa, the zx trans only will do 55mph with the 654 belt, i'm trying a 660 soon, hoping to get to 59mph and have the better take off than the 654 belt. If you want to cruise at...

Re: Custom build: Dio Elite or Spree?!?!

I like the looks better on the elite hands down. If you want more speed the spree is lighter and more nimble. I love how agile the spree is, and short. The elite has lockable storage also, hard to carry much on the spree. its kinda funny talking about something being more nimble than the elite, as ...

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue

Um yeah thats a problem.I like to use red lock tight on all the intake bolts Agreed! Luckily it didn't blow up. I didn't notice any movement when I was re-jetting it yesterday. Must have just vibrated itself loose. I torqued them to factory spec when I initially put it together, then I retorqued th...

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue

Well maddog was right, I went out and did a 30 second WOT run with the elite. I wasn't ready for the wheelie in the video below. I wouldn't say I almost dumped it, but it was fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_YsJIUsw8k&feature=youtu.be After doing several 30 second WOT runs I hard some racke...

Re: Help Diagnose top speed issue

I saw you post this n another thread, why can't you hold a 2 stroke wot for more than 15 seconds? What scientific thing happens to the engine/carb or other part that makes this a bad idea?

Re: What variator for 1999 elite S

Greetings: Polini or Polini for Ruckus both worth the pain if you have the clams and care to carve. Stock used Ruck vario almost as good. Get the SEF ramp plate unless you buy Polini, which uses its own bespoke design. you gotta get an SEF ramp plate made for the ruckus though correct? I tried putt...
