Re: fired up after winter, bell ring sound.
I was planning on riding it from my parent's garage to my house about 10 miles but I'll skip that.
I wonder how the heck this thing came out?
The day I drained gas when the scoot was leaned to one side I would hear marble noises which I thought were the rollers, but maybe it was this.

Re: Best place to buy a helmet? And brand/style you prefer?
I don't know good vs bad brands but the only way I'll buy a helmet is go to the store and ask them if I can ride it around the block. Since I have to wear prescription glasses I need a helmet that will have good airflow around the face meaning not much air directed to the eyes. I have a helmet but i...

reccomend me a street tire
Please recommend me a street tire. My scoot has a little over 5000 miles and the rear tire is worn out. I will ride it all summer long in dry and wet weather but will not take it off road. The stock tire has a tube, right? What's the pro/con of tubless? I do have a leak now (from the valve where it ...

fired up after winter, bell ring sound.
Hello. Today I installed the battery, and poured in fuel. When I started up the scoot I heard a bell sound that went away after a while. What is it? Bike runs the same as before wintertime. (I had it partially disassembled, kickstart and the side covers. I also found a little round hollow cylinder m...

Elite cluster (seeing past 35mph)
based on this pic http://sleepyscooters.yolasite.com/ http://sleepyscooters.yolasite.com/resources/100_0467.JPG I drew some arrows pointing towards the center and I'm getting a little confused. Based on the differences in the gauge between 15mph 25mph and 35mph marks it looks like 30* = 10mph, I ext...

Re: 2000 SA50 reduced top speed
My mechanic is really a bike guy, he does not do much scoot stuff. I've never opened up the scoot before other than take out the battery and drain the gas for the winter. Is this something I can do on a weekend? With the onset of cold weather here in Chicago I think this weekend I'll park it for the...

2000 SA50 reduced top speed
I have a little over 5000 miles on the scoot now. I put on about 3000 since I had it in a season and a few months. The scoot runs the same as always meaning when cold I need to ride half a block to warm it up (it sputters with lots of smoke unless I'm easy on the throttle which I am). Starts up same...

I have 01 SA50 I took my scoot to a local shop and the guy says he needs to research on gears for my scoot. I did not want to argue with him as he is praised localy but most of his work is Kawasaki bikes, not much scoot work. At any rate I gave him a pulley and gears but no weights or springs. What ...

how2: remove all black plastic trim?
On my 2000 SA50 the black turned grayish. I would like to remove all from scoot and paint flat black with spray paint for plastic. So far I removed the four nuts holding where the feet plastic attaches to frame, also the two forward screws, two screws holding the skirts where the feet are and two sc...
