Hmmm, we shall see. You don't even know how busy I've been, as well. We'll need to re-bend that throttle slide cover..but, it shouldn't be hard. After that, hopefully it'll be fine.

Well, mine's not running (or assembled, Summer project!), but I just picked up a 1974 Honda CB500 Four. Came with an aluminum bore kit, I don't think I'll install it yet, though.

I beat my belt cover off with a hammer and a 2x4.....took a while, though. Pry bars were too large to grab the edges with. They kind of get stuck on if they haven't been taken off for 20+ years....

Well, the bore kit is brand new, not even installed. The exhaust is cosmetically a little rusty, so the chrome is probably gone on it, but functionally it is fine....hard to find that exhaust, too, apparently. It doesn't come with the original seat, but the gentlemen is giving me a seat off of a 750...

So, the fact that it is torn down to the frame for a restoration would hinder this process? The guy was going to turn it into a cafe racer, and intall the bore kit, but never got around to it...comes with the bore kit, though, which is nice, and a cb750 Supersport 4-in-1 exhaust.....so, I'm picking ...

Now, I know that's normally the rule, but I was doing some calling around. The Michigan Secretary of State (where I live), claims that as long as I have a bill of sale and the VIN doesn't come up as stolen, I can get it retitled in my name....has anyone had any experience re-titling?

The bike has no title. It's a fixer-upper, in pieces right now. The guy I want to buy it from says he has never had the title for it. I'm going to do a little investigative work at the Secretary of State today and see what my options are. Any opinions from you guys? He wants $250 for it.

No, the scooter should start fine with a bad bystarter. It just won't run fine once it warms up. I'm saying your carb is still clogged. These carbs are notorious for being a PITA to get all of the way clean.

Hey, my carb works perfect, but when it's 10F outside, it still needs a choke, bystarter just doesn't give enough enrichment at that temp. Just a fact, they weren't mean to be run in the cold.

This could be your drain-nipple. When you unscrew the drain plug, it actually lets the gasoline drain out of this nipple (plug connection, whatever). That is right on the bottom of the carb bowl.

I admit, it can actually run without the bystarter hooked up, but it will run like crap. If the bystarter isn't hooked up, it will never close the fuel-enrichment circuit, and the bike will run quite rich. You could take the bystarter out, jam the needle into the bottom to cut off the fuel enrichmen...

If it starts when you spray fluid into it, then you have 1. Spark and 2. Compression. You are only missing 3. Gasoline. Your carb is still plugged up. The problem is that your carb isn't clean enough. Follow the carb cleaning section in the tech documents section. And be thorough, don't half-ass it....
