heyy haha srry about that i was in a rush and yeah i just confused myself reading that. ok so u take the cover off and put it on you lap. the kickstart comes trought the case and attatches to a half moon gear. when that turns it moves the little gear touching it(worm gear) out ward until it touches ...

its that worm gear thing grinding on the inner /outside pulleyt teeth that it catches to stat.

ur problems with that spring i had the same issue

umm i dont even no why im commmenting on this. yes the air/ fuel mixtures and system w/e have to be pretty percise on these things or they run like * hehe and im suprised that thing didnt seize . but i ran my elite 50 w/o a filter and i ran pretty d*** good and never siezed in about 80 degree weathe...
