Re: Dazed and confused

Thanks Wheelman, I will check this tomorrow. Could the exhaust pipe have clogged up while running too rich for 6 months?

Dazed and confused

I have a 1999 ELITE 50s that I derestricted, 16,000 miles on odometer, new Honda air filter. I put a new By starter on it last fall. While putting the carb back on the manifold, I put the spacer on upside down. While checking to see if the choke was working properly during this past spring, I notice...

Re: Gates or Bando belt?

Has anyone had any experience with the Gates brand belts? If not, what brand do most buy around here and why?

Gates or Bando belt?

I put a new belt on my 1999 SA50. The belt was a Gates belt made in China 641x15.5x30, in about a month it had torn several cog off the belt. What would cause this and are the Gates belts made in the USA a better quality? Is it worth trying another Gates belt with Kevlar, or go back to the Bando.

Want to go to a taller tire than 3.00x10

I have a 2000 Elite 50s and would like to know what is the tallest tire I can run on it. It is totally stock and after doing some measureing it looks like a 3.50x10 will almost fit, but not with the stock muffler. It looks like it will hit on the center stand bumper. I am useing the measurements fro...

Brad, if the split cable fits a 99 Elite S, I could certainly use it. It would save me alot of premixing. Just PM me as to where to send the $5.

It is a Cagiva engine and although it is probably quick to a point, it would not be fast compared to the bike the engine came out of. The wheelbase is too short, so it is really wheelie prone. Besides, it has 10" wheels on it! it would be almost impossible to change the sprockets enough to over...

Quietist pipe?

In the town I live in the police will write you up for an expansion chamber on your moped. If you ride a moped, you do not have to have a tag on it and supposedly an expansion chamber brings the power level up to the point that you must have a tag on it. Go figure? What is the quietist pipe I could ...

I would think that a larger than 50cc scooter is in order for two up. I weigh 230 and my Elite S runs alot better with a lighter person on it. If he removes the restrictor from the carb on the Zumma, he will run away and hide from you.

Unfortunately, if you ride you will wreck at some time. She needs to dress better though, especially when you are just starting out. Put her back on the horse and tell her to ride baby ride!

Veeduhb- wrote that the home made removers put excess preasure on the left side crank bearing, how so? If so why is the torque wrench not doing the same thing when you tighten the nut?

How do you set the torque for the nut with an impact wrench. It needs to be set at 43flb's for the newer Elites.
