Re: Honda Gyro
Sold mine last August for $850. It was totally rebuilt, in great shape, new tires and running at its prime. Local is probably your best bet as shipping costs really bump the price. I used CL as any enthusiast will doing a Google anyway. A non enthusiast may be very skeptical if they do not have the ...

Re: Wiring Issues
Is the rear brake light on or just the rear running light? I had an 84 Honda Gyro which had a fulltime rear running light in addition to the brake light. I think it was one bulb and two elements. One or more of the brakes is probably in the start circuit and if the brake sensor switch was inoperativ...

Re: Metro connecting rod damage
Greetings: I will bet it's a 2005 or earlier. Few people know less about Mets than me. I have read however that Honda committed a rare engineering error with its earlier Met models. The crankcase ventilation system was inadequate and allowed too much blow-by contamination of the oil. The Lube syste...

Metro connecting rod damage
I know it's not a Spree/Elite question but this is where the expertise resides. I have completely disassembled a Metro engine and found the rod connection at the crank is moving about .030 up and down. Side to side clearance is fine. Top connecting pin is in very good condition. Looks very normal. V...

Re: Seems to quit
Easiest route is a muffler bake. A "search" will give you the proper baking technique and etiquite for such an event.

Re: lacks power/cuts out when engine is warmed up
couple of things I would look for that are cheap. Check the air filter, looks like you cleaned/changed most everything else. I am not familiar with this model but it is an internal combustion engine and with those I am familiar. It will need a rich mixture when cold and starting. Does it run wide op...

It's Alive! It's Alive!
Well, I cleaned, and cleaned, and cleaned. And it did naught for the problem. I looked at all the stickys trying to take advantage of the great advice in those sections. I looked at pictures of disassembly and reassembly trying to make sure I had not missed anything. Ran great with the throttle slee...

Thanks
Disassembled the carb again and soaked in cleaner overnight. Found a little trash in the carb bowl. Cleaned out all jets and reassembled. Checked compression and it was ok. Don't think it is the compression because once it gets up on the main jet it runs wonderful, but getting the rpms up to that po...

well, u dont want a gray plug. my guess, carb. u check the compression? if its low, u will have a hard time tuning. been down that road. 8) Grey may have been a poor choice of words. I know the color I need when perfect or close to perfection. I try not to get that lean until I am sure it is broken...

1984 Gyro Bogging
I've resurrected a 1984 Gyro. Bystarter seems to be working per test in Spree manual I am using for information. Seems to be bogging because I can get it running and it will eventually increase in speed. I noticed today that if I take the whole slide mechanism out of the the carb the it runs like a ...

Gyro ignition coil replacement
I have an 84 Gyro with a bad ignition coil. It is a TEC brand, model MP02. Is this a common coil with any other early 80,s Hondas, such as a Spree?
Anyone have one for sale?
thanks.
