Re: 1984 AERO 125
If there ever was a scoot you wanted to set up for a wheelie this would be it my elite e is easier to wheelie, the aero 125 is long and relatively heavy, the nose wants to lift and would with the help of a manual clutch (or just some simple mods that we all do to every other scooter). although I ha...

Re: Bar end weights?
...have nothing to do with vibration. bar end sliders have close to nothing to do with vibration (because they add so little mass). But bar end wieghts do lower the travel in vibration my using increased mass to use some of the kenetic energy transferred to the bars...the more mass an object has, t...

Re: Bar end weights?
no experience with these on a scooter (cant feel any vibration on scooters) but I did use weights on my HD. it was a 'pre rubber mounted engine' model. I think I used 12ga. deer slugs stuck into the bar ends. they worked great...its just a mass dampener...mentioned in any first year physics class.

Re: ID honda scooter
with this being an asian market scooter, it may have a higher output electrical system than the American scooters. you may just have to buy a regulator from a foriegn dealer's website and have it shipped internationally.

the most worn (but functioning) top end
I checked compression on a scoot and it was 60psi. This shocked me because the manual (page 6-9) lists compression for an sb50 at 142psi. It had no trouble starting and idled well but it was really slow acceleration and had no top end. This was on a sb50p. So I was wondering what is the lowest compr...

Re: ID honda scooter
the voltage regulator is part of the electrical system, not part of the alternator assembly (where your parts link goes to). when you are looking at the parts website, select wire harness (instead of alternator) from the drop down menu then click the go button. item 4 is the rectifier/regulator (sam...

Re: 1984 AERO 125
they were only sold in the USA in '84. in europe they sold as the lead 125 for several years. I don't know how many years they were sold in Canada. I was told that 6800 of these where sold to the states but that is just hear say from another forum so i have no evidence. the USA model was sold in a r...

Re: ID honda scooter
it doesn't matter if it is an SA50 or SA50P...they use the same regulator. there should be a white sticker on the frame tube beneath the foot board. it can be seen from one side or the other (while laying on the ground) without removing the footboard. this sticker will have the year, model, vin number

if there are any pieces missing from the rings or piston, it is a good idea to replace the end bearings.

Re: Buying an Elite 50... what to look for?
check the gas tank for rust. check the oil tank to make sure it is not dry. check the tire tread. these 2-strokes are very basic so there isn't much you can check without getting the tools out and pulling parts.
