It does smoke alot more now then before.Has this happen'd to you.is this a common thing that happens?

My 86 spree was running great all summer then one day started to run crappy(hesitate off the line, sputter etc.)I baked the muffler,cleaned the carb(full dismantle),moved the clip up one notch, replaced plug and she runs good for about 10-15 min.then acts up.Put in new plug again runs great then 10-...

The sqeal has gone away.I checked the flywheel key and it's there.maybe it is the belt.I measured it and I'm still with in specs. by 1mm.

83.3% sure...that's some odds.I will pop the flywheel off and check it out.She sure ran great today minus the sqeal sound.

it is definetly NOT mice.I did however put a good used ststor and pulsar on that I picked up from Badthree.however the noise didn't start till after a few days later.like I said it is not down on power.Just this stupid sqeal thats driving me bonkers.I took the shroud off and the noise is still there...

why do guys write"clean the carbs".....There is ONLY ONE CARB on a spree.

I thought it was the belt at first,but the sqeal comes from the otherside of the engine not the belt side.I even took out my stethescope to have a listen and the noise is coming from the flywheel side.I measured the width of the belt and it is still within spec.help.

I successfully use ESSO easymix it is a synthetic oil that is reasonably priced and you can also use it as pre-mix which I have done after a new top end just for alittle bit more lube during break-in period.Peace.

your plug should be a nice lite tan color not grey. grey means it's running to lean or to hot.
