Re: Steering Issues

Just to give you all a report on the 87 Spree. The forks were fine. The frame was bent. We put a chain on the back of the scooter attached to a car. We then put a ratchet strap on the front, then attached it to a tree and started cranking on it. we had to pull it back about 8 inches to original spec...

87 Spree Carb Adjustment

What do you recommend for carb adjustment on an 87 Spree? How many turns with the top and bottom screw? Do you turn it all the way in crank it out 1 1/2 turns? Thanks ahead of time!

Can you bend it back without screwing it up?

Re: Steering Issues

Cool, we may take you up on it. Let us pull apart the the fork and column. If the bentness comes from the frame, there would be a crimp somewhere right? And also, with what you are suggesting, with the mis alignment, this would cause the handle bars to kick back towards the seat?

Thanks man

Re: Steering Issues

Cool, may take you up on that, do you have to pull the forks out to see if they are bent? The 86 and 87 sit differently when on it. The 86 feels normal and drives straight, the 87, your hands are further in towards you and pulls left.

Re: Steering Issues

That's the wacky part, the frame looks straight, stem, looks straight too. We took it down, we can take another look....

Re: Steering Issues

So, they all look fine though? I mean everything is straight on it? Will replacing the forks cause the handlebars to go back into position? How much do forks run?

Steering Issues

We just picked up a 1987 Honda Spree and got it to fire and run, however, the handle bars (whole steering column) are pulled in towards the seat. We are compared it to a 86 Spree and it way different. It also drives wonky. We couldn't find any dents or crimps in the frame that would make it do this....

Re: SB 50 Carb Problems Brown sleeve and bead

It's in the clylinder (not on the brown sleeve) on the other side of the idle screw, about a 1/4 from the top. if you look into the cylinder where the brown sleeve goes in. the brown sleeve I have has two slots on it, straight across from each other. Does that make sense? I have a 1989 honda elite E...

SB 50 Carb Problems Brown sleeve and bead

I pulled my carb out recently and knocked off the bead that holds the brown sleeve in place for the throttle. I think it moves around now and the idle screw doesn't stay in one spot. Have any of you fixed this before? Can you weld in a new bead? Drill it and put a screw in? Thoughts? The carb is fin...

Sccoterwerx,

What's you top end speed after all that? Will replacing the gears works? Going to a 9:1 and a high speed pulley?

Thanks fellas. So basically, swapping out gears, new pulleys won't do it then? I would need to swap out the engine?
