I used a stainless steel 2 mm bicycle spoke for a remote choke. Sure beat cutting a hole in the panel.

Re: What color should i paint my honda spree?
Color of your bike?
Nothing says motorcycle like black. Matches your leathers. Purple can make a statement too. Not my style
I sprayed the modified panels on my wifes scoot in black with clear coat last night. It ain't rocket science.

Re: Big Bore, Stock Carb Tuning Results
spider There are not much differences in the trail tech vapor. Just differences in the mounts and the type of magnet that they include. I bought one for a Honda ATV and put it on my Yamaha 500. Best bet is to look for one that doesnt have a water temp sensor although the sensors are available from t...

No disagreement on confusion of the various models. I still scratch my head with the nomenclature.

Re: Do You Ride/Own A Motorcycle???
There are some cool bikes on this list. I wouldn't mind having a SM bike. Mookies collection is so cool although I am not into the race replicas any more. In the past I have had a CBX, 2 vmaxes a 1000fzr. At present I have two of my ex race bikes both 350 Yamahas, 2 Sr500 singles, an Xt500 and two V...

Re: motor swap
One way to start is to put your bike perfectly upright without the stock motor. Hold new motor in it and then clamp the sides of the wheels on two long pieces of angle iron. It will let you get an idea where it might fit. Perhaps either your 80 or 50cc motormount might be adapted. I fit a later mode...

It is quiet
I mentioned that I thought my 89 eliteE was quiet with my expansion chamber but heard from the boss that it was barely quiet. I had gotten a YZ125 silencer but realized that it was as long as my expansion chamber and was a no go no room. My stinger is mounted inside the pipe and when I ran the calcu...

Re: Gordon Jennings is right
With the inside stinger it is quiet enough barely. You can't hear it coming from a 1/4 mile away like before. My wife took it on a 7 mile ride. I rode wingman on her motorcycle. It was a hilly route and she had it going 55 on the Buell's speedo on a 3 percent upgrade. When she got back she reported ...

Re: Body Repair
What we have been using for the past few years is West Epoxy and various reinforcements. The reinforcement can come from Carbonfiber, fiberglass or from cotton fibers stirred into the epoxy. Instead of bondo we use some lightweight fillers in the epoxy and spread it on. It is quite sandable. Epoxy b...

Gordon Jennings is right
Tonight I was looking at trying to quiet my converted expansion chamber. I bought a YZ silencer on flea bay and when I got it, it was almost as big as my expansion chamber. My bike has been lowered significantly and there was no room for it. I needed a solution for a quieter 86cc engine. I remembere...

Are my rollers too light? rpm question
I bought a Dio engine with an 86cc kit engine and put in my 89 EliteE. http://www.hondaspree.net/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=10823 It has been running the past two weeks. Last night I shortened the expansion chamber and when it was run this morning I noticed a definite decrease in rpm after it h...

Re: old rider, new 86cc Elite E
I just had to shorten my pipe. It is now about 6-7 inches shorter than it was. It hangs low but not as outboard as before. It puts the needle over into the edge of the speedometer case in short order. It was 8:00pm and dark. The low end is still docile for easy low speed maneuvering but once it roll...
