Re: No Fire???

Okay, I have finally got her cleaned and some new parts on. I have a good working carb, good compression and gas is getting to the spark plug. Which is firing outside the chamber but when I screw it in and go to start her it does nothing but try to start, it doesn't fire. What could be wrong? What ...

Re: What UNI Filter??

Sounds like any 50mm filter will work. Uni also makes filters with 2" inlet.

With enough time and skill/money it can happen. The trouble is most 150's are horizontal nowadays and this causes all sorts of problems with hanging and clearance and length.

Re: big block se50?

Greetings: What happened to the SE engine? You mean the kymco Zx50 engine. See the madmax build . It is running really well. Cruises at 40. Been close to 50 on it and the take-off is crazy good. But, it is pushed by the wind very easily and on a 40mph road where I cruise it is slightly underpowered...

Re: big block se50?

To cruise at 55mph you might need to go with a native 150cc motor.

I am working on an elite 150 swap right now. We'll see how it turns out, it's really wide and i have a lot of work yet to do.

Re: indiana riders beware!!!!

Yeah, more money does make entry into riding harder, but I know i would see fewer reckless thoughtless scooter riders in town if they all needed the Rider Safety course. I am contemplating taking the course myself to get the motorcycle endorsement ( the course is required for M class license in FL)

I believe the stock torque is 8 ft-lbs, might need to check the manual on that. I ran my bbk at 11.

Re: Need Help with yoyo idling on rebuild

Clean the carb.
Check the air filter for crud/oldness.
Clean the carb again.
Make sure the petcock works well and replace fuel lines if you feel like spending the money.
Then clean the carb again.

here is a linkto help.

Re: Ethonal.

There is a law in FL that all unleaded should contain 10% ethanol. In North Dakota i felt like it was higher.

Bear will chime in about how it burns hotter and tears things up, but you just have to live and let burn.

Can using a different additive help offset this?

Number one lesson:
Don't be afraid of the job. You don't have to pay someone else to do it.

Number two lesson:
Money can always fix your mistakes.

Carb Screws Size

I am in need of some of the screws in the bowl of the carb. Are they metric #8 or #6?
