Re: It died...
Bought a plug. No dice.
Bought a compression tester from Harbor Freight: dice. I only had 70 psi. Put a bit of oil in the cylinder and re-checked and it was over 120. Time to replace the rings?

Re: It died...
I pulled the cover under the speedo and checked all of the wires i had disconnected and they are all snug. Air screw is still on the carb. I have spark at the plug. Whether or not it's enough is another question.
Soooo frustrating

Wire is definatlely on.
I'll clean the carb one more time (#4 in two weeks) to rule that out.

Anything else to check in the starting system? Another note: I did JUST re-install all of the plastics after painting which in...

Re: Breaking down question.
I bought two from Honda and they were black. But they do 'look' like that though. About 1/4 in thick with a little groove at the top and a screw hole.

Re: Airbox help!
Looks like it's missing the cover. You NEED the cover (and filter element in there).

Be sure to get an air filter. Honda dealer can get them for four bucks.

Awesome. How much did you pay?
I got mine two weeks ago in about the same shape. I've been out in the garage doing something on it every night. This site kicks azz for help.

Final drive oil level
Opened the oil screw on the final drive to check the level (to verify there WAS oil in it) and it poured out. The manual says full is to the bottom of the screw. Assuming my bike was level, it was overfilled, right?

Re: Lights stay on when battery connected-even with key off
The head/dash lights were not working. Didn't check when revving. I felt guilty running without an air filter all day so i'll wait to mess with it until Tuesday when my filter comes in. Engine started to sputter towards the end of the day. I might be fouling up my new plug already. I'll report on Tu...

Yeah. It was running
...three regulators later...
First one: running but no lights
Second: lights but no AC. Watched battery go down to about 10 v before I killed it.
Third: lights and around 12.79 vdc. Is that enough?
