Honda Express SRish project
I had halvsies on a UK Scoopy scooter with my buddy. Helluva fun and comfy ride! But he didn't want to share any longer and offered a running noped in trade. Its a mutt of a bike, the pic tells the tale better than words. As much as it pained me to let go of the scoopy, this little bike was too much...

Re: Honda sh50 score
Traded my interest in this bike for a honda express with the DS engine and expansion pipe. The scoopy is still faster to 30 without a pipe!

Express DS/ NX50 crankshaft
I picked up an express with the DS engine on it and have a few compatible kits in my collection, same as the honda hobbits in my collection. I am wondering if there is any "nice" crank that would be compatible. If there aren't any cranks, I plan to just rock a teeny carb to keep things on ...

Re: Honda sh50 score
Engine is labeled SH50E B. Changed the gas, cleaned the carb, cleaned the sparkplug, hotwired it since we didn't have a key, and it fired right up. Good old Honda bikes. Runs a solid 30 even without the airbox, and gets there a lot faster than my 2012 ruckus! With a pipe and some tuning it should re...

Yeah, it's a scoopy. Model of engine on the kick start you say? I'll check it.

Honda sh50 score
Me and my business partner were picking up some classic bikes to fix up for our shop and grabbed an sh50 for ourselves. It has a uk tag and is not a model the U.S. gets, some army guy brought it over. Frame badge doesn't list year and I can't find info on them, just some uk pics. Looks early 80s. No...

Re: Nashville Moped Rally
I would love to make the deadpeds rally this year, but I'm swinging through for the 4-20 rally in KY instead. Hope it goes well!

Re: mopeds you ride (pics please)
Thanks for the questions! The motor just coasts if I push it with the gas engine, unless I turn on the electric brake. Then it can regen into the battery, but it is quite expensive electricity VS the outlet! The tank is from some old Bridgestone 90 bike. Ebay score that looked right. The ehub on fro...

Re: mopeds you ride (pics please)
I got excited to see a moped thread here! Then I realized that it was a bunch of scooters. No pedals = NOped! Here is my latest moped project. Honda Hobbit, '82 I think. Redid the frame and put a top tank on it. New front end from a Garelli. Front Electric hub for an added 3hp of low end :naughty: F...

Re: Spree Performance baselines and troubleshooting
I have used them before. There seems to be plenty of width for one. Paper just needs retightening about 4 times before it settles in, about every 30 minutes of use.
If the gasket is cheap enough though, I would spring for a stock one.

Re: Spree Performance baselines and troubleshooting
I went ahead and got a new crank so I could at least have a whole engine. Process: Take apart motor, make note and bag all parts. Removed head- seals broke Split case- seals intact and in great shape Installed new crank. Seems hard to rotate, maybe some oil will help. Flywheel is now rubbing on the ...

Re: Custom build with Honda motor
It is bigger than my spree, if that tells you anything. It is about the size of a 150cc motorcycle, without the weight. Not so mini anymore. I am on good terms with the neighbors. I won't be taking midnight rides without a silencer on it though. My electric bikes are for night rides anyway. Ninja st...

Re: Custom build with Honda motor
Here is the next incarnation of the bike. Still needs a new seat and some other bits. I am working on getting a few 3w LEDs in the headlamp for some long time shine. I currently use a little Lithium Iron battery for the 12v light source. Not exactly a scooter, but it is just as fun to ride and it is...

Re: Starts cold, runs, hard time restarting when warm.
I'm an idiot, CDI doesn't have a condenser generally. I've been working on points systems lately and need to get my head into the future.
