Re: Aero 50 rear turn signal lights being weird after spark
Turns out it was the fuse. I replaced it with the fuse from my parts moped and everything's hunky dorey again. The parts ped fuse is a 10 AMP and the one I took out was a 7 AMP. Will that cause problems if I leave it in there? Sorry to double post if anyone got the other one I posted on another thre...

Re: Blowing Fuses
I have a Honda Aero 50 with a blown fuse. I also have a Honda Elite 50 parts moped, I pulled the fuse from it. The Aero 50 fuse is a 7 AMP and the Elite fuse is a 10 AMP. Would it be ok to use the 10 AMP in the Aero? I tried it just to test and make sure the fuse was the only problem and everything ...

Aero 50 rear turn signal lights being weird after spark
I recently had my scooter stolen and recovered with a chiseled out ignition. I ordered a new ignition from an ebay guy in the UK, but while I'm waiting, I hotwired the red and black wires to make it functional. (with a U-lock through the front tire/mount when it's parked!) Anyways when I was ...

Honda Aero 50 Ignition switch alternatives?
Recently some rotten souled, ugly, braindead, worthless sack of crap stole my prized 85 Honda Aero 50 that I spent 2 years fixing up. Luckily, a week later it was recovered after being towed from an apartment complex. Unfortunately they chiseled out the ignition switch. (and ripped the flawless seat...

Are Aero and Elite forks interchangable? (87 Elite->86 Aero)
I have an 86 Honda Aero that I think has a slightly bend fork. I also have an 87 Honda Elite-S that's a parts scoot. Will the fork from the Elite work in the Aero? They look the same from the eye (except one's black) and this is what came up on Babbits for the parts: 51105-GN2-660ZA FORK, FR. *NH35M...

Re: Jet size identification?
The plug thing is to remind people that when hot rodding an engine, you need to run colder plugs than normal because high performance creates more heat, hence the need for colder plugs. Running premium fuel in an engine not requiring it can cause a number of issues, the least of which is premature ...

Acceleration problems - 85 Aero 50
I've been having a problem lately with my 85 Aero 50...My scooter is getting lower overall acceleration, but more importantly, when I ride for more than 15mins I will ubruptly loose ALL acceleration and the scoot will start to slow down. If I twist the throttle back and forth several times it will u...

Re: Jet size identification?
In loco's case,if he mills the cylinder head .030 he will be fine with using 91 or 92 octane fuel and using a 7plug during the cold season and a 8plug when the air temps get above 70deg and upjetting till he gets the right plug color. So what's all the business with plugs? Should I be using a diffe...

Re: Jet size identification?
Although, be sure to decarbonize your PISTON ON THE HEAD OF THE ACTUAL PISTON while you are there. How do you do decarbonize the piston head of the actual piston? I couldn't find anything about that in the forums. Is that a flame torch thing or just a good going over with a wire brush, etc? Do you ...

Re: Jet size identification?
U might be able to see the defernce but on my spree ontop of the thrrads on the side there is, like an eigth in of un threaded jet body and that is stamped with the # I'll be damned! You're right, mine has that too. I feel silly for not inspecting it closer. You can't really tell by looking at the ...

Jet size identification?
I have an 85 Honda Aero and I'm looking into doing the upjetting/drilled airbox mod, possibly a little hole in the end of the stock muffler too. I'm not sure if it currently has a #75 or #80 jet in it, but I also have an 87 Elite-S thats suppose to have a #82 jet that's compatible. Unfortunatly I ha...

Re: 85 Aero 50 upgrades with a 87 Elite 50-S??
I've never cracked open the cylinder head before, but I'd be willing to check it out if it will be better. (opening up and examining my parts moped first of course) Is there a good tech doc for this? Also I think I have decided for sure to swap out the cool throttle on the Elite that automatically a...

85 Aero 50 upgrades with a 87 Elite 50-S??
I ride my Aero 50 which is in great shape now. I got it going by stealing parts off of an 87 Elite 50-S scrapper moped I have. I've read several threads that mention the Elite 50-S having sportier/faster components. Does anyone know what might be superior on the Elite 50-S that I might want to swap ...

Re: Aero 50 standard belt vs. "sport" belt. Big difference?
I'm also wondering if I need to replace the clutch shoes. My OD is at 2800 miles and they've never been replaced. The service manual maintenance schedule says inspect/adjust or replace every 2K, but it's usually a little overkill. It may not have been as apparent with the worn belt. I do hear a slig...

Re: Aero 50 standard belt vs. "sport" belt. Big difference?
I ended up going with the cheaper one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-SA50-SE50-NB50-Elite-Aero-Clutch-Drive-Belt-NEW-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem4150ca12c7QQitemZ280528294599QQptZOtherQ5fVehicleQ5fParts I just installed it today and got a 6mph speed boost! I like to say I can go "F mph&q...
