Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

If the engine dies at full throttle when you take your finger away, is that still the idle jet causing the problem? It does sound like a fuel / air problem though. Are all of the joints tight between the carb & the engine, reed cage etc? Does the carb float move freely, and the float valve / fuel p...

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

Your idle jet is clogged. When you put your hand over the intake like that it's sucking gas through the main jet. You need to clean your carb.

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

This ALSO is a CARDINAL offense...sewing needles are very brittle and subject to EASILY breaking off while inserted to suspect orifice. THEN, you have a major problem. Totally agree; it's the last attempt b/f I throw the carb out, but would always do this before trying to remove the idle tube in th...

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

Am I wrong thinking the idle jet is not removable? I ordered a new auto-choke to test it... If it doesn't work, I'll do the idle circuit cleaning. These carbs are troublesome aren't they??? I have never experienced so much problems with a moped or 50cc carb before. I used to pour my gas in the tank...

Re: 1992 Elite 50cc dies with throttle / gas

Petcock won't cause that issue, but you can check the float level on the carb. That sounds like over rich condition... have you verified the main jet size and/or did this problem just start?

Re: New member from France with a 1986 Aero 50

What you're describing is a blocked idle jet. Read up here on cleaning them. I'd also suggest a new spark plug if you haven't replaced it recently.

Per Partzilla, 1983-84 NH80 and 1984 NH125 use the same part for ignition switch.

Re: Minimal items needed to run a spree?

For those that don't know, he's referring to this: https://goo.gl/images/HxyFn8 The idea is that you remove all un-needed metal (including doors and such) in the ultimate weight-lightening activity. It's completely analogous to what Burnt did with his Spree. A few of my buddies are doing these now; ...

Re: At what point is it not a Spree anymore? Fastest Spree

Spree needs to be 1 speed, and so you need to keep the single pulley. Everything else to me is fair game.

If you have access to a full machine shop, I'd find the biggest, meanest bore that will fit the case and swap that on... 80cc+, then stroke out the crank, and see what you can get from that.

I'm including the gaskets; it bugs me that these carbon fiber reed sets don't come with them standard, since you need to replace them at the same time.

Re: 1993 Honda elite sr major oil leak

Hey fellas, I just bought my new to me 1993 and it seems like I may have to just scrap everything besides the brakes and ignition. The engine smokes terribly but it will make 30 mph which is decent enough for key west. I am just curious to know if you guys can give me an estimate on what it would c...
