Re: Spree questions

Yeah, I don't think they had tool kits or spare spark plugs. I bought my 1985 from a guy in WI who parked it in his garage in 89... All I got was the manual in the original protective bag. I really don't think there is any other place to stick a tool kit on the bike.

Re: Thinking about opening up my Spree engine...

You need a flywheel puller and a crank installation tool and a pair of bearing pullers. Why go thru the time to do it tho its just a terd spree engine Thanks. I bought the Spree as a learning project, I like engines, I like taking things apart... Here we are. I don't want to swap in an engine becau...

It was sitting for 20 years in some dude's garage, un-winterized. It runs iffy. I've cleaned everything multiple times and it's not the best it can be. Plus, when I get bored I tend to like to take things apart. :-P

Thinking about opening up my Spree engine...

Okay, so I am thinking that over the next few months that I'd want to pull my engine out of my Spree and go through it. Are there any special tools I'd need to split the engine open? I want to take it down, clean it out, and re-assemble it.

Thanks,
Nick

Painting the cylinder...

Okay. So I was thinking about getting a Taz big bore kit... and I was wondering if anyone thinks spraying a coat or two of high-temp paint on the outside of the cylinder would affect the cooling. I know that these are really sensitive to their cooling properties, so I figured I'd ask before I screw ...

Here is the first thing I found http://dx.com/p/60w-stereo-audio-amplifier-for-car-motorcycle-golf-cart-red-91350 it could be teamed up with a cheap Bluetooth receiver for use with your phone with out cables. Or this if it would fit, http://dx.com/p/160w-hi-fi-stereo-amplifier-mp3-player-w-sd-usb-f...

I wouldn't give him more than $300 without papers... Jut tell him it honestly isn't worth what he's asking. Offer what you think and see what he says, the worst he can ay is no.

Re: My Spree Now Has Tunes!

I think its pretty cool, as long as you remember to turn the key off when ever the engine isn't running, but I'm sure you already realize that ;-) . Its gonna look super sweet with grills and painted :-) Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2 Lol, yup. Suprisingly, it doesn't draw as much power as I...

My Spree Now Has Tunes!

So... instead of boring you with a million words about what I did, here's a two-and-a-half minute YouTube video. Tell me what you think.

I need to get some pics of my 85 on here. Aside from a few scratches (not caused by me) it's mint.

Re: He thinks this is low miles????

Hm-m-m, I had a guy tell me his had that kind of mileage and it turned out he was reading in the last digit (tenths) on the odometer. I bet it's really 2500 miles. Yeah, it's possible. But remember, the 84-86s have the capability to push the odometer into the 10,000+ range. Just depends on how far ...

Has anyone tried to put a variator on a Spree?

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried to install a variator off of a dio or something onto a Spree engine? Now I know the first thing someone's going to say is "If you want an engine with a variator, swap in a dio motor." Yeah yeah, whatever. I don't want to do a motor conversion. I was ...

(I'm building a racer and it never worked right until I scrapped the single-cylinder engine for a dual cylinder.) 2 stroke or 4 stroke??? swimmingfree 4-stroke Briggs and Stratton Opposed twin. http://m.youtube.com/w...
