Re: Aero 80. Should it stay or should it go?

To know how good the current cylinder, piston and rings is, you really need to do a compression test. It sounds like they are pretty bad though so maybe you should fix this. The used parts you found are likely fine if they look good and the piston and rings are the correct size for the cylinder. You...

Re: ID honda scooter

The service manual is the way to go for this sort of problem. Normally it has a pretty good trouble shooting section. My brother used the Elite 80 service manual from Honda to diagnose his electrical system and find the fault regulator. Someone on here might know, but either way you should pick up t...

Re: Aero 80. Should it stay or should it go?

These old Honda 2-strokes are champs....scoring isn't good but I bet it'll still run fine. I don't think this is your real problem. If you get it running okay then you can start looking into smaller problems like this. Do as wikked_spree says if you want your scooter to get fixed right, but if you j...

Re:

Is there a site to tell you how many of what colors for each year? I've got some of this info on my site www.motorscooterguide.net From that site, the Elite E (SB50p) was sold in: 1988: Fighting Red, Sherbet Pink (Elite E) and Black, Foam Green (Elite ES) 1989: Black, Sherbet Pink (Elite E) 1990: B...

Re:

the 1983 nh-80 2 stroke is the one worth money, only made that yr.= very rare = very fast... The NH80 was sold '83 - '85. Maybe you are thinking of the Aero 125 which was only sold in '84 (in the USA). For an NH80, 1985 is probably the year to get because it has the extra storage in the side panel,...

Do you know if both versions were sold in Canada? Or just did Canadians just get the no variator version?

Re: 1988 Honda ELite ES

I'm pretty sure the 88 ES uses similar engine as spree but different manifold, so NO longer case and NO vari, microfiche checks this out http://images.powersportsnetwork.com/fiche/images/HONDA/1988/Scooters/2672_DRIVE%20FACE.gif Thanks...that makes sense. I don't know why I didn't think to check th...

Re: Honda Spree Big bore (Have one thanks to tazland001)

has anyone purchased or installed the high energy ignition system? on ebay from daywot Yup....not for the spree but for 2 other scooters. It did nothing. It may be higher energy but the stock coil ended up being totally adequate already. I guess it makes sense that Honda wouldn't leave significant ...

Re: How to lose my business

The reason they do that is because sellers don't have to pay any fees to Ebay on the shipping charges. I've purchased from Daywot before and he was open about doing this. Paying $25 shipping for a $25 ignition coil seemed like too much but Daywot explained that this coil is $40-$50 elsewhere (true)...

Re: the most worn (but functioning) top end

I've seen 75-80psi on an '83 Yamaha Riva 80 / Beluga. Someone had rebuilt it with a 1mm oversized piston but used stock rings so the ring cap was like 3mm

Re: 1988 Honda ELite ES

Is the Elite ES basically the Elite E but with a longer crankshaft that has a variator? Or what's the difference? I'm trying to get all this stuff straight for my website:

Re: ID honda scooter

This just in.... Apparently this bike has had 2 voltage regulator recently and they both burned out. Anyone think it is the rectifier or alternator? The voltage regulators seem to go on older Honda's. I've seen two go personally (Aero 80 and Elite 80). Perhaps the regulators that were being used fo...
