This is true! It may not sound right, but it is! The parts are small, but there kinda bulky, making it difficult to stuff the parts in boxes. Expecially those leg shields. :)

Re: What are they worth / best way to sell Sprees.

Don't part em, you'll sell the parts that are in high demand, then you'll be sitting on the rest of the stuff that many don't usually need! Agreed....Youd be stuck with 80% of each bike that nobody wants after the good stuff is gone. Who wants to buy stock Spree forks, handlebars, oil tank, etc.......

Re: Spree or Die

I can tell from the old decals, the kick-start, muffler, and kick-stand you have a 1986 Spree. Your Spree isn't in too bad of shape, so this will be a easy turnaround. For your Gas tank, I would find a solution to soak it in for about a day. I recommend using "Metal Rescue" Rust Rem...

This was a good score for $40 bucks! Would love to see the results if you could follow up with us all on it! :) Original poster has not been on the forum since 2010. No updates expected for this any time soon... Appears "smoooth" logged on this morning, you never know motormike...

Re: My scooter collection

Dude! You picked up some nice rides there! :2thumbs: If you decide you really want to sell that 1986 Spree, let me know, I'd for sure be interested in that! (Even though I know I'm across the country) But think about it first, you may not really want to sell it since it's in great shape! But h...

Re: Are Spree NQ50 Starter Motors fixable?

Depends on what's out in it really. Typically, it's the bendix that goes out on a starter, sometimes the bushings are shot or need greased, sometimes the armature needs turned. You'd just have to tear it apart and inspect it. For the most part, you may not need to spend a dime, it might just be all...

Re: One-Day Spree Homemade Front Basket Project

Unfortunately, my TIG welding skills are very poor. I got a "D" in handwriting in the fourth grade, and don't have a steady hand. It is good enough for my work, but not good enough to send out.. sorry about that. Haha, can't be that bad cuz they look fine to me! No problem, I'm go...

This is some great work vintagegarage! Would you be willing to make a few of these brackets and sell them to me? You make it look like nothing and your work is just as good as stock!

Re: Manual choke, do they exist??

Motormike is right, the auto-choke (bystarter) is really the only option you have. To be honest what I would do is probably get rid of the original bystarter and order a new one off eBay, they don't go for much $5-8 bucks is all. Sprees were never manufactured with an manual choke. Make sure the car...
