Re: ruima 80cc BBK install failure (1996 SA50)
Nope, have been lucky in that aspect. I was buying a Spree kit for my old SB50 from Taz and he had a Ruima kit that needed gaskets for cheap, went for both, ordered gaskets from Ruima (they only charged me shipping, expensive shipping) so it still ended up being a reasonable purchase. I haven't done...

Re: ruima 80cc BBK install failure (1996 SA50)
If the engine blew up while you were running it I dont see how you prevented anything from dropping down into your case. Im not sure how else to say it to you except the piston parts didnt disappear, they had to go somewhere and that would be the case or the exhaust. You with a rag after the fact i...

I prevented shavings from entering the case with a rag.

Re: Variator windows or notches
Did you see Routabit's YouTube videos? He is using an adapted Dio (SA50) variator. Seems like the better way to go from what I read. The guys notching the Hobbit variators seem to shred rollers via one moped blog I read.

Re: ruima 80cc BBK install failure (1996 SA50)
Sorry your having a difficult time. First time doing anything is always rough. Make sure you didnt get any shavings in the case. Do the bolts go in when the jug is completely off? They make head stud kits but ive never once had problems using the stock bolts. Defiantely never ever use a mallet whil...

Re: ruima 80cc BBK install failure (1996 SA50)
I got new bolts, hoping I'd just ruined the old ones. I had my neighbor help, we discovered the 2 exhaust-side holes weren't grabbing, he suggested I get a same size tap and see if the threads in the case were just dirty. I ran the tap in, and it went fine, but I used compressed air and a lot of met...

Re: 1996 SA50 tire change with issues-with progress updates
So, 15 months later... I finally got the tire in to the shop. What a nightmare. I had emailed the shop and they said "sure, bring it in" and I did, service guy hands it over to mechanic and tells me to wait. Mechanic must hate doing tires, as he comes out from back fast and *. What bike is...

He's on my enemys list via the forum control panel. It autohides his posts, but when someone responds or quotes him, I see those, and can deduce that's he's out trolling.

Re: 2012 Chicago Scooter Rally
I ordered a new set of bolts, maybe I just messed up the old bolts. If you're doing the poker run on Saturday, I live 3 blocks from both the 2nd to last and last rally points (Vintage Vinyl & Tommy Nevin's) so if you want to come over and give a look-see, that'd be cool. I'll be handing out poke...

Well, if I don't go, I might still be involved, as Saturday's Poker Run will have a stop at my workplace.
