just found the issue but now i need a solution my engine was not in the right position, i unbolted the shock so the carb sits more level and she fired up first kick and idled perfectly... but now i need a way to adjust the float hight so i dont mess up my ride hight

do you think having the choke hoses mixed up would cause this issue, ill try and adjust the a/f screw and i made a copper gasket for the exhaust so ill see how that works, its just weird to me that it sounds like its about about start everytime but runs outa steam

well sorry i havent updated for a while, i got my rings and carb parts thanks bear :2thumbs: got the motor back together and in the scoot, compression is pretty solid but when i try to start her up she only runs for about 5 seconds at barely idle speed and only starts with the throttle wide open P.S...

what wieghts are i your variator

ordered the rings, hopefully it won't take more than a week it's coming via the royal air mail or something like that

yes the hanger and exhaust arrived today i'll be throwing that in the bbq today
unfortunately though i still need to get rings and the slide/cap to the carb, i found a pair o rings on fleabay but they are in England, so who knows how that will work

finally back heres my progress so far got the engine in with very little fuss, no frame modification what so ever... yet just had to modifify the engine hanger to be wide enough by splicing both the 50's+80's together but now i have a serious ride hight issue

you need to take the carb apart and see if the float is allowing fuel to enter the bowl

set the a/f screw to 1 1/2 turns out, then check your spark plug's color/condition you probly gunked it up running rich

its fine to have a high idle unless its engaging the clutch then thats a safety issue, but this could be a hint that your by-starter needs to be cleaned or replaced its job is to keep you from having to do that

hmm taking the cover off might have a larger affect on the 80 then if the variator is that big, wow people should start modifying thier dio cases to fit those monsters by the way i am making a custom exhaust to clear the aero50 plastics so i am needing to know the the diameter of the aero80's exhaus...

you could put the quad exhaust on but you would have to modify the exhaust outlet on the end to have the same diameter as the outlet on the stock muffler, and even then it might not make any power,though it would probly allow the engine to rev higher
