Re: New to Forum-OKO setup question

Thank you bear. It's just my ignorance acting up again. Went ahead and put the 40pilot/115main in and needle clip at center. Almost came out from under me tonight. I think I'll leave it there and see tomorrow when there's less cold air. Still gotta close off the K$N air filter about 60%.V Dude

Re: I just got my 1st Honda elite (99)

Hey rushu, good job on the work done. Looks like a challenge to get this straight. Good to have help with it too. Nice pics, sorry, can't advise to try and save those motor mounts, just replace 'em, I think Babbitts online has 'em for 6.85 each, plus freight. You'll have to carefully use a hacksaw b...

Re: New to Forum-OKO setup question

Hey Turtle13, I knew you would be looking at this post. I was excited as * when it finally got straightened out with the 19mm. This bore is really a 45mm(exact) that I got from Patrick (Daywot.ebaymotors.com) So did you find any air leaks? I looked at the video and will be testing mine from ...

Re: I just got my 1st Honda elite (99)

Double check the bystarter for proper function. I took a carb. apart once and the bystarter valve was missing, no wonder it didn't work! Also try a compression check. Low compression will also cause it to stall out. Make friends with a mechanic. Best of luck to ya. V DUDE

Re: I just got my 1st Honda elite (99)

Welcome fellow scooterist! (That's "scooter-enthusiast"). Read your post. Have to agree with Mystic that it sounds like more air than fuel. Stock carb was meant to be used with stock air box. The keihin pa35j carburetor has a non-adjustable pilot jet installed that works with the "ugl...

Re: New to Forum-OKO setup question

OK, thanks. 42 pilot is right. good up to 1/2 throttle, then blaaaah. no power. I don't think it's getting enough gas. tried an 85-even less power. must need to go up? getting late, I'll mess with it again tomorrow. it was real good up to 1/2 throttle. made sure no leaks (air). still have a question...

Re: New to Forum-OKO setup question

Thanks Baka, I went up to second clip and seemed to help. I went down on the main jet to a 95 and that helped too. Set a/f screw to 2 turns out. Warmed up and went 300 ft. at 1/2 open then throttle dropped to very little response. pulled choke on and was better response. Pushed home. Is there someth...

Re: New to Forum-OKO setup question

Thanks Baka. The plug is dark wet. Was a 42 in there and I guess too rich. 38 is the smallest pilot jet in the set. That is what is in there now. Still sort'a damp-it idles but with very little response. Is there supposed to be an opening for the oil line? Seems there is a nub w/ a hole in it mid wa...
