Re: polini pimpin, 5kmi corsa overhaul

I stand corrected, my apologies. I've never seen an engine look like that from using Castor 927, there's a lot more carbon than in any of the engines we've built for our customers. In contrast, the exhaust port on an engine using castor looks brand new with a honey-colored glaze on it (from castor p...

Re: Phongeer Pipe

The pressure wave found in 2 strokes are an element found in expansion chamber pipes and not all exhaust pipes are of that design. The PG Long is not tuned that way, the internal dimensions correspond to a specific internal volume which determines the rpm point in which the pipe is pressurized and s...

Re: Clutch pads - too smooth?

Pad surface should only be slightly rough when brand new. When it heat cycles, it's normal to have it very smooth. Clutch pads don't require a rough surface to hold onto the clutch bell. Smooth pad surface = more surface area to contact the clutch bell.

Re: big bore cooling?

I have that kit, the stock fan shroud fits. I just trimmed around the spark plug because it fits tight. Upjetting will pretty much take care of the cooling, I'd recommend a temp gauge so you know whats going on. Exactly as 808BMW has said, the stock fan shroud will fit but you will need to grind th...

Re: polini pimpin, 5kmi corsa overhaul

Based on what I saw in the first few pics, your jetting is considerably rich and if I were to take a guess, it's your main jet that's too big, but then again you ride for miles at wide open so I guess that's expected. The hard carbon on the piston and the exhaust ports are from using an inferior gra...

Re: hot taiwan setup (Arnadanoob)

Hey 808, I think it's fine, just need to match the weights to that center spring and no, you don't have to have someone follow you around for belt slap, if the belt is that bad you'll notice it when it's on the center stand and rev it with slight rear brake load. 6:9 is rather tall but good overall,...

Re: Phongeer Pipe

As it was said, don't go with an exhaust upgrade until a bore upgrade. The 2 stroke exhaust isn't anything like a 4 stroke muffler/can on motorcycles or cars. The pipe on a moped has a very unique function, which is to determine the point in which backpressure is formed at a particular rpm. A muffle...

Re: hot taiwan setup (Arnadanoob)

We need to narrow down what you're looking for. There's essentially 2 approaches to this goal. The question you need to ask yourself is do you want something dependable that you can ride daily, or is this just a part time fun thing where you're only going to ride it only a few times a week. Keep in ...

Re: Dont buy a blue racing cdi ! Dio and Jog

The factory CDI is still best but sometimes it goes bad and you need a cheap replacement. The blue CDI works but I see so many bad installs. You need to install it where it won't get wet. ALOT of the Honda guys install it where the rain and splash will get to it. Even though the unit is sealed with ...

However if you really must know, this is just a small introduction of a CDI unit.

Re: What is the full function of CDI?

Unless you were planning on making and designing your own CDI (pointless for a SA50), the inner workings of a CDI is pointless as it's one of those fine tuning devices that don't exactly increase power by itself, but it may help to squeeze out a little more on a very modded engine. The main purpose ...

Re: Keeping Cool With Mods: Jetting and ?? Fan Options?

It's not a PG Long. It doesn't carry the PG badge on them and from what I understand there's no link to them since they're still in the experimental stage. If your bike isn't at least a very built 72cc, stay away from them for now. I've already had to deal with 1 hard headed customer who insisted th...

Re: Keeping Cool With Mods: Jetting and ?? Fan Options?

SEF makes accessories now, not major components. The SEF Majik is an incredible pipe, we've made some 72cc motors with radical porting that put many strokers away. The SEF Black is my favorite all purpose pipe, more so than the PG Long since it's incredibly quiet and the power potential (when tuned ...
