Re: Neeed more speed on spree.

I don't think you'll get what you want out of the Spree motor. I put in a big bore kit and while it ran 'ok', I wasn't happy with it. Your best bet is to swap in an AF16 engine with some additional mods. People sell them here. With this engine, 80-90mph is possible but requires major mods and money....

Re: yeahbradley- DioSpreeee

Welcome. AF16 Sprees are a lot of fun. Had one many years ago. The front shock was a little prone to bouncing when taking turns at speed. Made for more fun.

First couple mods I'd humbly suggest is putting on an air filter and new rear tire. Sky's the limit on AF16 mods.

Where did graphite9 go?

I just noticed that posts from graphite9/Brandon/SSS have been deleted and his membership gone. What happened ?

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

Sorry for the hiatus. The Elite is doing great for my purposes. It's used for light duty almost everyday. I haven't checked WOT head temps in awhile as I've been a bit busy and haven't done any fun runs. I should probably do that to see how the bore is doing after some heat cycles. I know I can brin...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

On another note, I ran some Maxima 927 Castor oil. I'd describe the smell like burning sugar with a little nylon in it. It doesn't have that sharper nostril bite of regular oil so it's slightly more pleasant, but not by a lot. It does smoke a lot more than Maxima Scooter Pro synthetic when coming of...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

Haven't had a chance to run a positive pressure test. Still using the moped for errands etc. and watching temps. For running around town the temps are fine. If I'm doing WOT on long stretches it does creep up to uncomfortable numbers. Not many miles on the new bore. The trans is setup to hold ~7800 ...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

I did that when I first got the bike, except put it on the gas grill on max, then occasionally used compressed air to blow through it pushing out the smoke. Kept doing that until it stopped smoking, maybe about an hour and it wasn't too heavy. The bike was a stock SA50P the original owner never mess...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

I swapped clutch springs from Koso 1k RPM to Koso 2k RPM. The 1k felt like stock, the 2ks appear to engage around 3100 RPM fresh. Will see where they settle in at. Feels ok as they prevent off the line lag, while not too stiff to give engagement jumping. (Funny that the forum censors the word I orig...

Re: Elite 80 CH80 Project?

Ideally, and hopefully sometime in the near future, my ch80 will recieve a ch150 engine swap, which should give me the all around performace id like to have for the size of the ch80 chassis. Hmm, that's a very interesting idea. I do also see a lot of 150's floating around. They're liquid cooled tho...

Re: Elite 80 CH80 Project?

Haha yea it does look like a toaster. Sometimes I can't help but feel like there's all these neglected abused bikes out there that need rehabilitation and a loving home. I see a ton of CH80s out there but rarely an SA50. The CH80 I was just considering for another project in uncharted territory. Sup...

Elite 80 CH80 Project?

I've came across a cheap 1989 CH80 with unknown miles I'm considering buying. I'm relatively familiar with 2-strokes however I don't have experience working on 4-strokes. The bike has some issues and hasn't really been taken care of. It runs and idles ok, but the power feels very weak and a little s...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

Yep, the stock carb with airbox really keeps the noise down. Unfortunately I haven't found an airbox that works well on larger carbs, but the mod bonesv did to fit a dio carb with airbox looks very interesting. I need to research that a bit more. Would it really be worth the performance improvement ...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

Engine temps at higher rpms are lower a lot of the time because of the higher amount of fuel filling the cylinder which in turn cools the cylinder. But if the throttle is wide open for both RPM scenarios, the amount of fuel in the cylinder would be a function of how much fuel is being brought in wi...

Re: 2000 Elite S Build - "Mr. Grey"

Did another test run with new weights, 37.5g (5.6g x 3, 6.9 x 3), and it's looking like I'm too light again with a speed cap of 46 MPH at 8100 RPM. The butt dyno feels like there isn't much power being made at 8100 and 7500 felt a lot stronger. Going to get around to that leak test setup and switch ...
