Re: hawaii moped bill hb1753

Every year in Hawaii too many scooter Riders we're getting killed. And that countless numbers of complaints for loud pipes. It was just a matter of time before they did something. It really sucks that they had to do that but it's for your own and the Public's safety. Britain went through this about...

Re: 2 Stroke Engine Quiz

27/30

It could have been more specific with the questions, small engine seemed to be refering to the kind found in leaf blowers.
Compression options a bit random and didn't really fit any, my 50cc 2T Simson Schwalbe runs at 9:1 compression, which is the same as my 4 stroke Honda 175cc.

Re: ??? Anybody have a better link so I can restore this POS

Any local hardware store should be able to sort you out with bolts and washers.
They'd probably even give you one for nothing.

If it's a POS don't waste money on NOS

Safe water temps would be same as on a car.

175-180F is fine, you just need to keep it away from boiling point or you'll get problems

Re: Tube and Skeleton Frame Scoots - anyone built one?

There's a big customising scene in the UK using Lambrettas and Vespas. They're often skeletoned in to 'cutdowns' https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=lambretta+skeleton&biw=1760&bih=904&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi5tv-IxPnLAhXF1A4KHXTJAykQsAQIGw#tbm=isch&...

Re: Bad rattling noise while going 40 mph and up

Does it only rattle when you're riding, or can you get it to rattle when it's on a stand with the rear wheel off the ground? Can you figure out roughly where it's coming from? My guess would be if it's related to going at certain speeds and not related to revs it wouldn't be an engine problem but ma...

Re: Honda spree oil tank

Hi Mishkaman, You need to put in 2 stroke oil. This is sometimes labelled as '2T'. Use good quality stuff from a proper brand like Castrol. Don't skimp as it's what protects your engine. There's no need to mix it in with the petrol, just pour it neat in to the oil tank and let the oil pump do it's b...

Re: Removing stuck cylinder on Express SR

Rubber mallet and gently tap around the top of the cylinder in all directions.

If you look between the fins, you may see parts that look stronger to take the rubber mallet blows.
Never pry off the barrel as it risks scoring the mating surface which can lead to air leaks and the like.

Re: 1987 Elite SE50 Electrical help

Hi,
Does it look like anyone's bodged the wiring at some point?

I found the following diagram (1987 SE50) : http://www.hondaspree.net/other/SE50_19 ... iagram.jpg

Yellow looks like it might be for the bystarter on the carb.

Bu/Bl on this diagram would be related to the right hand turn signals

Re: Possible to run without battery?

I've seen batteries replaced by large value capacitors to soak up extra energy on race and track day bikes.
